Re: UVa. Regular Decision
I personally delivered my ED contract this morning to Mr. Cordel Faulk. 6 hours later, IN!
Now the amazing part: Mr. Faulk told me on the phone that he was surprised to see me this morning because they already made the decision to accept me earlier this week, so he waived my ED contract, "so you will be able to compare the financial packages from other schools."
What a gracious gesture! Still in shock.

I've talked to Mr. Faulk a couple of times, and he is by far the nicest person I have talked to from any school I applied. That's great he's not holding you to ED.

Sad thing is I would actually love to get in. I used to drive by the school all the time, I love south/southwest VA. Some of my best memories and moments happened down there. Maybe I should have written that into my essays.

I have to agree 100% on this. When I called, he knew exactly who I was, what my app was about, my scholly info, etc. Whereas when I called back other places they acted like I was just another admit, yanno?DCLaw11 wrote:I've talked to Mr. Faulk a couple of times, and he is by far the nicest person I have talked to from any school I applied. UVA is a top contender for me no matter where else I get in.

True. He is either a genuinely nice dude, or crazy good at faking it.sarahlawg wrote:I have to agree 100% on this. +1, I can't decide if it's worth turning down CCN.. but I LOVE UVA.. ?sarahlawg wrote:I have to agree 100% on this. Holy crap!! That's some crazy data. I can't believe the 20% increase Oct 2009 (that's actually when I took the LSAT.) It appears as if that was a result of the fall 2008 crash? But since things are settling down the #s are going down again (LSAT takers and LS applicants)?? That sounds like the most obvious answer. But wow. Thanks r6, I'm really glad we frequent (almost) the same threads.r6_philly wrote:10% less by volume. And I know retakers are up, so maybe it combines to mean that the number of people in this cycle is more than 10% down.DCLaw11 wrote:Could you post the link? Does this mean in general, there were 10% less test takers, or the test average was 10% worse?r6_philly wrote: Also Oct LSAT is down 10%.

That's fantasmic. I'll probably be at UVA next year (unless I hate ASW in March, doubtful) so I hope to see you there!ThreeYears wrote:I personally delivered my ED contract this morning to Mr. Cordel Faulk. 6 hours later, IN!

At the rate that the weather has been this winter in the Appalachians, unless you're already used to it it will probably ridiculously cold, and possibly snowy.paulinaporizkova wrote:

EDIT: looks like you've mostly applied to cold places, nm

+1 that is really nice of him! he sent me an e-mail to call him when i got a chance. When i called him and told him my name he started talking about how much he loved my PS, recalled specific names from it etc, asked if we were still in touch, talked about clinics he thought i'd be interested in, and was just seriously the nicest guy everrrr. i was shocked by how personal he was.DCLaw11 wrote:I've talked to Mr. Faulk a couple of times, and he is by far the nicest person I have talked to from any school I applied.
