UVa. Regular Decision
I turned in my regular decision application to UVa. a week ago and it says my file is complete and pending review/decision. A friend at UVa. Law said if I don't hear back after a week, I'm probably waitlisted. The UVa Status checker says RD applicants will hear back in January, though. Do regular decision applicants get admitted earlier than some ED applicants?? I'm wondering how long I should wait before I start to worry. Btw, my stats are 169 LSAT/4.0 GPA and I am a UVa. undergraduate and Virginia resident. I would appreciate any input/experiences/calming words!

Don't worry. I don't think anyone has heard back RD yet.
Also, if you're going to be nitpicky about the capitalization, it's actually U.Va.

Haha thanks for the tip- I think I've been doing it wrong for the past four years.

Yeah I saw in some threads from last year that a couple people heard at around this time, but I haven't heard yet this year. I'm also stressing about this (and also went to UVA undergrad !) glad it's not just me!

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
Yeah, my friend was telling me that all her Double-Hoo friends had been notified a week after they applied regular decision, but she didn't indicate when they had applied. Maybe we are jumping the gun- the top law school admissions graphs shows that UVA sends out its first wave in early November.

With a 4.0/169 in-state, UVA RD is probably a slam dunk and you have a chance at CCN as well.

How long did it take all of you to receive a status checker e-mail? I submitted my UVA application the other day and still have not received the e-mail with my login and temporary password. With other schools I have received these almost immediately, is UVA different?

I think UVA is pretty timely... I submitted my application last Sunday (10/17) and received the status checker email Monday afternoon. Give it another day or so!

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
It took about three weeks for me to get my acceptance letter last year for RD, but I sent it in at the beginning/middle part of November and heard at the beginning of December. Not sure if this year will be different since they have the 3-week ED from the beginning of the cycle.

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
I've been pending/complete since 9/30 with no date changes at all. UVA is definitely one of the status checkers i've been looking at most obsessively lately :/
The first wave of RD decisions came out beginning-mid November last year, right?? If so, we might not have that much longer to wait!

Is that a new thing? I have it, though it's very possible that I just never noticed it before.

Mine has that too... I think it's always been like that even before I was complete.

Do you think they will come some time this week or next? Also, for RD, do they call you (as they do with ED) or will we just get something in the mail/by email?
