Have you been made aware of the gunner club?

Denied today at around 4:52 PM. At least last year, I was waitlisted. That makes no sense except for the fact I applied later this time around. (I had a not-as-great PS and one less recommendation letter last year.) && darn lsat score.

Eh, that's ok, I would rather go take my money to a school that believes in me -- HELLO, FORT WORTH!!

I saw something about it but I've never really fit the gunner mold. I'll probably get kicked out.

+10000000000. I would actually like the answer to all of these questions, as well.
About orientation:
New Student Orientation will be held on August 12 and August 13, 2011. Both days are mandatory for ALL incoming students.

Friday, August 12, 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Saturday, August 13, 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

You sure, we've got a few openings with people withdrawing of late.

To be honest, I like the exclusivity of the smaller club.

To add one more question to the heap: does anyone know by when we need to accept our FAid awards? I've gotta run some numbers on how much debt I think I'm going to need to take on and at 8% (+4% fee!) I don't want to take out a single penny more than I need to.

I would think that the sooner you decide on your award package, the better.

Also, I talked to financial aid and they told me that financial aid funds will be disbursed the week of August 5th. Hopefully they stay true to that word!

Ugh... I finally signed on an apartment Saturday after the ASR. I'm living pretty far from downtown (Westheimer/Voss area), but my husband works over in Westchase so we had to split the difference. I don't think it's going to be a bad commute.

Everything's just so darn expensive.

You get your checks the 2nd or 3rd day of school. Shitty, I know. You have to figure out a way to cover yourself until then. One semester they came 2 or 3 days before school but generally 2nd or 3rd day of class.

Class schedules should be released sometime over summer. When you get your STCL login, you can probably view your classes some time in July and first class assignments will be up as well.

You're an interesting applicant. Waitlisted at STCL but accepted part-time to SMU. You did something right.

RENT $600
I have a room for a Town home that will be available on August 1st, 2011. The Town home is 10-15 minutes from South Texas School of Law. It is located on 610 & Stella Link. The Town Home has 2bedrooms/2 bath. It has a kitchen, dinning room, washer and dryer a garage and a small backyard. The town home is in a gated area full of other town homes. The landlord for the Town home will be responsible for maintenance. It is just like living in a apartment. I have a roommate who goes to the University of Houston Law Center and he has the Master bedroom. I will be going to LSU Law School so who ever wants to start the 12 month lease in August should send a message.

I'm going to say (hopefully on behalf of the other people ITT) that I want to thank you for your insight this cycle, Grad Student, it's been invaluable. Good luck on your finals and the bar exam. Just wanted to say that now while I was thinking about it.

Ok, I am going to call myself out here, but here goes...
Did I miss a thread that had a list of all these acronyms that people are using? Or is it that I haven't spent years on this site and because of that I am not familiar with these terms?

Thanks! You folks are a great help.
I had figured out most of them through context clues, but new acronyms keep coming up.

Now if someone could direct me to a studio or 1BR apartment near campus that has super cheap rent and is amazing condition with a washer dryer connection (full-size), I'd really be impressed :P

You can try searching for apartments on offcampus.rice.edu - they have a pretty good apartment search feature. And the area around Rice is beautiful - not too far from campus. Definitely closer than Bellaire, which is where 610/stella link area is.
