I can't speak for anyone else but I'm not saying the poster is wrong. The comments just can't be applied generically. Of course there are people who are going to start law school and have a terrible experience - but to warn every future student of the same outcome is just fear mongering.

That type of advice is much more practical in the form of "if you do this, then this might happen".

I thought the assumption was that law school is hard? Am I wrong?

You are right, I didn't mean to apply it generically. And I didn't intend to fear monger. The reality is that I can tell you from candid conversations with classmates, the majority of them will say it isn't what they thought it would be. Especially for those that had never worked in the legal field. It doesn't apply to everyone, but it is something everyone should consider.

Don't tell anyone where you're going to law school. It makes all of us look worse.

2) As much as you *think* you are ready for law school, you have no idea what you are in for.

3) Be ready to sacrifice everything. I do mean everything. No life, no entertainment, no relaxation. Ever. Before it is all over, there will be people in your section that get a divorce, loose their family, whatever. It's very, very sad.

I have heard this same thing from a couple 1Ls at South Texas. But there are those that enjoy it and are doing well without giving up life outside of law school. I think it comes down to how effective you are at managing your time and the amount of info you can digest through studying.

I just found out today that I was accepted by South Texas. Now it's a toss up between South Texas and LSU. I want to practice in Texas so I don't know what school would be the better fit. I received a $14,00 Scholarship from LSU and it's a higher ranked Law School. I just feel if want to practice in Texas, South Texas should be the school I choose?????

Yeah I wish the status checker would show you how many seats are filled out of the total available seats, and how many applicants are still under review. Would be nice to know the odds.

So they've been sending rejections all this week, no one on here has gotten an acceptance, and the earliest we will be hearing from them is monday.

that's so weird that people are getting denied stcl and accepted LSU,
or offered money @stcl but not LSU.
I was accepted to stcl and Waitlisted at LSU.
admissions are a weird thing...

Just got off the phone with STCL. They are open today! They wouldn't send out rejections on Good Friday, right?

The good thing about LSU is that it is cheaper to go there. Also the standard of living there is cheap in Baton Rouge. A good school and a low price is a good deal.
