FWIW, I tried to negotiate $ with no success. Apparently there's a chance if there's funds leftover after the deadline of scholly acceptance (April 1st) then there's a miniscule chance, but no increased awards were given last year.

Did you send it to Reyes?

Thanks Pink, you're the best. I just emailed my negotiation letter, here is to hoping I suppose.

Just got off the phone with Reyes. There are no more scholly funds right now, so they can't reconsider with anyone and won't have new offers for people until after April 1st. Also to echo pink, he said that in the last three years almost no one has renegotiated. So there you go guys. Nice call though.

Totally threw me off. I was expecting a quick email rejecting my plea. I think he has made a lot of these calls, today.

I think you're right. He mentioned that he had been flooded w/calls and e-mails once offers went out. Also said I'd get a very large packet in the mail next week with all the pertinent scholarship info.

Same here...unless they give me some need-based scholly.

No. What happens is they take the money from those who don't pay the deposit april first and then issue a second wave of scholarship offers. So you guys are in the running but not til april.

Well, that gives me a little more hope...even though it may be false hope.

This scholarship stuff is confusing. My admissions decision was really quick, but I haven't heard anything about scholarship yet. I wonder I should take that as a no.

I received a 28K scholarship for the first year only, but will be withdrawing soon, so hopefully this opens up my spot and money for someone else! Good luck everyone!

Glad to hear some feedback about scholarship negotiation, although its a bummer that they haven't been too generous. My question for you guys is if I want to stand a chance at negotiating a higher scholarship should I send in the letter now and wait, or wait until after the April 1st deadline to send it?

For everyone who's in, here are some technology links you many want to visit:

Download (LinkRemoved) the SJ Quinney College of Law Wallpaper Pack (zip file)

Link (LinkRemoved) to download Exam4 for Windows or Mac.

Download Exam4 and select "Prepare to Start New Exam"; use any number (123 for example) as your Student Exam Number then select "S11 Practice Exam" for "Course" on both dropdown boxes. Check box to re-confirm; select test duration time and font/text color; check crash recovery checkmark; Exam Mode=Closed; checkmark and NEXT; begin exam.

The software will then do a security check on your computer; if it passes all the security measures, the software will allow you to begin the practice exam (there are no questions asked, just a format to type your answers.)

Type the US Constitution (or whatever) as your answer to Question 1 and then go to the dropdown box to "End Exam", confirm and then wait for your internet connection to be re-established (the software automatically disables your internet connection on startup for obvious reasons) then "Submit Electronically" (these are the MAC steps, YOMV)

If nothing else, you will be able to verify that your current laptop meets the security and hardware requirements of Exam4. I am just thrilled that unlike our friends in Provo, SJQ supports Mac laptops! SJQ has already saved me $1500.00!

Haha, thanks. Ya at this point such a small thing seems like progress. I'm not sure what I'll decide regardless, but I really am ready to know and be able to finally make a decision and move on!

Bad news buddy. I called Reyes and told him not to accept /deny you until I heard from byu. He agreed cause he felt he owed me one since he couldn't negotiate. Shifty eyes.
