Same, applied 10/31 for EA, still waiting. (In State)
Same here - submitted 11/1, in-state. Does the status checker come by email? Has anyone who applied at the deadline received it?

Also, could someone clarify the difference between "complete" and "under review"? Does "complete" refer to the date the LSAC report was generated? My LSAC report was generated on 11/4, but the only email I've seen from UT was at 4:01am on 11/3 with the subject "UT LAW-APPLICATION RECEIVED"......

There's this thing at Trudy's that challenges you to have their Mexican Martini at all three (or four) locations around Austin. If you manage to do it I think they give you a shirt haha, it's pretty hard considering they're incredibly strong.

Also, when you come for ASW next summer you should check out canoeing down Barton Creek. For like 5-6 bucks an hour you can rent one and spend the day out on a canoe drinking beer and taking in the sights. You rent them from Zilker Park, which is downtown, so the location is fantastic.

Austin is just amazing.

You guys are making this wait all the more difficult, haha!

Edit: I still haven't received a status checker - submitted 10/31.

I want to be in Austin so badly, and my SO works in music production and would be very happy there. I wish I could have screamed "first choice" all over my application.
I did. It didn't work.

Got my status checker email this morning and apparently I made their ED deadline after all :D :!: Now I play the waiting game for a decision.

My middle name is missing the last letter on my status checker page, though. I checked my sent app and it looks like the mistake wasn't on my end.

I've never been to Austin, but I know a guy who lives there who said I can crash with him if I want to come visit the school sometime during winter break, so hopefully I'll get a chance to visit. Does anybody know when the ASW is?

There's no way you are getting rejected with those numbers. Enjoy acceptance.

I know this isn't the chances thread but does anyone know how much of a markdown in not being a Texas resident at this point of the cycle?

WOW YOU ARE SUCH A DICK. No, that's cool. Meant it to be humorous - and informative.

There's no real use in a follow up email to a ding saying "No no, you guys are totally wrong to ding me. I'm actually awesome." Right? Is that something that's done? Emailing to say I understand your decision but would like the opportunity to convince you otherwise?

In all seriousness, though, is there an argument to be made for doing that? Or not at all.

Username99, don't take MichaelB either seriously or personally. He's been a dick in every single thread he's posted in. Take a look at his post history, and you'll see that he received merit-based fee waivers to YHS, and that he was accepted to Harvard weeks ago.

Get a life and stop trolling, Mike.
Kthxbye....

GTFO.

Let's all get back to talking about Austin. What are some of the restaurants someone should definitely hit up if they visit the school?

If you're here on Sunday, definitely go to brunch at Julio's in Hyde Park before 11. Unassuming little Mexican joint -- great breakfast tacos, migas, etc. Cash only. Then go next door and get a salted oatmeal cookie from the bakery.

For dinner go to Lambert's BBQ downtown. Can be pricey, but if you're visiting/vacationing, totally worth it. They have a cheap happy hour, too -- it's the only way our friends and I can afford to be there. I hear Beth's downtown is pretty good, too. French food. Sandra Bullock owns it and is in there sometimes.

Galaxy Cafe is great for lunch, they have a couple locations, I frequent the Enfield one.

Spider House coffee is pretty close to the law school. Great coffee, and I think they serve drinks there too, now.

Go to South Congress and eat at Vespaio for some really good Italian. Really anything on SoCo is great..Guerro's for Mexican, Hopdoddy for a burger, SC cafe.

Ohhh, restaurants. Well, in that case I have no idea. Everytime I go to Austin I'm completely blacked out somewhere on 6th Street by 10 pm at the latest.
