To be fair, I feel like there are very few of these fans for ANY team.

Yeah, this seasons football was miserable. I feel like most can admit that...however, next year is a whole other story. Plus, I'm not a Longhorn yet, my family members are not Longhorns, and I have no idea if I'll be at UT next year, but I feel like this probably isn't the best thread to complain about the Longhorns in.

Texas just needs to correct its dismal free throw situation. Once that happens they'll dominate more comfortably.

I agree with you that most fans are terribly uneducated, and it's something I have to live with. I just wish people would take a little time to learn about something that they appear so passionate about.

I'll be the first to admit Texas is a phenomenal basketball team this year and A&M was outclassed in every aspect of the game tonight, but then again with the way Texas is playing right now they are the best team in the nation.

5-7 is all I have to say about football. If you'd like to get into an XOs talk about it have after it, but the facts clearly stand on A&M's side.

The facts? Like the fact that the all-time record is 75-37-5 in favor of Texas?

This could get good.

Haha, I totally looked that up but then chickened out on saying it. I'm kind of glad you did though :)

The way they have been playing lately the free throws won't matter because nobody will even be close late in a game. Come tournament time they definitely need to get it fixed. Jordan Hamilton is a lottery pick for sure, and is just sick at the college level. He's not defensible with the ball in his hand.

1. I'm talking about the current direction of the programs. A&M is coming off a trip to the Cotton Bowl and texas sat on the couch this bowl season. Texas basically has a whole new coaching staff coming in because of the product on the field last year. Mack Brown is a phenomenal recruiter but he's got shit for brains when it comes to X and Os. He surrounds himself with top flight assistance to do the coaching. I give him props for this because he recognizes his weaknesses. However they'll be running a totally new system on both sides of the ball next year and that kind of drastic change always takes time to gel. They want to run a power running game and yet their O-line is totally recruited to run a spread and can't fire off the ball to blow people off the line and open up running lanes. I can go on but nobody probably has a clue about what I'm talking about anyway.

2. A&M was an all male military school up until the mid 60s and Texas had about 3 times the enrollment. Since A&M admitted women and their enrollment grew to numbers comparable to texas the football record is about even. Y'all feel free to count them up if you're that interested.

I filled out that Alumni contact form last week (I think?) and got a great email from a UT alum today. She's going to answer any questions I have about clinics and criminal law. If anyone else is interested I can share it on here too :)

Just found out I got into UT. It seems like a great school do you know when their ASW is?

lol do not take the segway tour unless you're absolutely determined to look like a tourist.

Just find someone who's lived in the area and ask them to take you around. We're pretty friendly here.

Does anyone know if Texas still does Scholarship Matching with the T14 schools?

It's just been one of my life goals to be on a Segway and say "Michael!" (arrested development holla!)

Anytime I see those segway gangs around town, I don't know whether to poke fun or be jealous.

I don't think I could actually do it...but in theory, it's pretty awesome. It takes balls to go on a Segway tour.

I really want to go on the tour actually mostly because I've always been perversely fascinated by the segway and really want to try it.

There's no way I can go down for the ASW though without a travel stipend or at least a paid-for plane ticket. Anybody have any idea when they're going to get back to people about this?

Do you have to request a stipend? And how do you go about doing so?

I called a while back and they said that travel $ for ASW was, in essence, by invitation only and they hadn't yet decided who to offer it to. I'm hoping somebody has spoken to them more recently than I have though.

Congrats! With your numbers, I'm surprised it took this long to hear back.

I believe today is UT's application deadline so hopefully that means a lot more movement (especially for those of us held) coming up soon.
