Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
You meet both the GPA (3.6) and LSAT (168) scholarship floors. If they said they're sending scholarship info, you should be getting money.super6 wrote:Just got in via phone call. I was in class but read the google voice transcript. I'm sure I would see it if I read past pages but he said they're sending scholarship info in 1-2 weeks, does that mean I got a scholarship?
Also, I'm 170/3.6 OOS for those interested. My status never updated after it went complete in December.

It's also fun to note how many of the new T13 advocates were just yesterday screaming that the rankings were a meaningless joke... Very, very interesting....longhornlaw wrote:It's fun to watch how butthurt the rest of TLS has become over this.pereira6 wrote:We all just got into a T14! Yay stupid rankings!

Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
Northeast + Cali bias, justified to an extent (Harvard, Yale, Stanford), but way overblown, to the point that people think Georgetown is a whole category above UT/Vandy and even superior to UVA or Duke. Hell, there are people on TLS who think going to Fordham is a better idea than going to Vandy or UT. For the record, I'm attending UT (in-state) unless I get a good solid scholarship offer in the Top 10. That's the way I see it. Nothing else is really justified.

Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
Some people said that LSAC lost their applications, or that they were somehow not received by the school. Have you checked with admissions to see if they received it? Did you get a status checker/go complete?PleaseHelpThanks wrote:Anyone else been waiting 5 months? I haven't heard a thing
OOS
Not URM
Very strong app
LSAT low / GPA high
Fingers crossed
Threw salt over my shoulder
Thoughts?

Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
I called a month ago, and they said they have everything, and that they need more time.
As for the status checker... I've looked at it everyday for 5 months, and nothing has changed.

In today!!!! Ecstatic.
Not a lot of movement or communication via status checker. Just got a nonchalant e-mail saying I was accepted.

For those looking at housing already:
Have one bedroom left in a 3br/2bth house about 10 minutes from the Law School. House is beautifully remodeled as of this year with hardwood floors, new kitchen appliances, and a few assorted extra goodies. House has a two car garage, and a phenomenal backyard with greenhouse, outdoor shower, a pool, and two large decks. Was going to live in it myself but I was dinged at UT... However, one of the roommates is a rising 2L at UT Law and he can surely help while you adjust to law school.
Price is going to be cheap for what you get, probably 750 or 800 plus bills. Nine month lease.
For those of you not wanting to live too far out or not wanting to drive, the house is only about two minutes from a park and ride stop. I'd guess you would be at the law school in twenty minutes.
PM for address and additional info.
Come check it out may be gone pretty quick!
