Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
Any thoughts on what is taking them so long on my app? I've submitted 10/21 and I got my status checker and complete email on the 28th of October. I keep seeing on here that people who have submitted before, after and at the same time as me have gotten rejected or accepted already. Am i a shoe-in to be deferred or waitlisted? UT seems fast so I can't imagine what the hold up is.

Thats what I thought, its my reach and I have good softs, but if its an auto-reject why is it taking them so long? I'd rather know sooner than later, even if it is a rejection.whymeohgodno wrote:Below both medians. Should be a rejection.swiftwings88 wrote:Any thoughts on what is taking them so long on my app? Are you out of state? I'm trying to figure out if most of the dings are out of state people...asuusa wrote:Dinged via status checker (11/20/2010). Knew I had about a 1 in a million there, so I'm not too crushed. UT was the dream. (167/3.36/URM Mex. Am.) I guess I'll wait for Georgetown and Cornell, I guess.

That makes sense, I've heard UT has a soft floor around 3.4-3.5.PKUGIRL wrote:Out of state. International applicant.whymeohgodno wrote:In state?PKUGIRL wrote:In via status!

Weird. Someone with a 173/3.49 got outright rejected. He was OOS though, are you in state by any chance?beachbum wrote:Held for regular decision. I'm a little surprised they didn't outright reject me, but I suppose this is pretty much the same thing?

Nope, OOS. I'm not sure what the deal is; as best as I can tell, those with similar numbers (including another 170/3.4x) have been uniformly rejected. Maybe I really am a special snowflake?whymeohgodno wrote:Weird. Someone with a 173/3.49 got outright rejected. Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
I think they've pretty much been mentioning scholarship offers on the phone call. Not specifics, but a general, "scholarship offer will be in the mail in 1-2 weeks" statement. So far it seems only people who heard that got the offers, but I'm not 100% on that. I do know I got an offer and was first told about it on the vm Dean Ingram left for me.randomperson wrote:when did everyone hear back about scholly offers? i received the offer of admission from dean ingram via a phonecall on friday, but no word/info on schollys...

Well, I'll be the optimist here. My app was complete on 9/24 and I was accepted just on 11/18. I was getting impatient about my decision too, not all acceptances come quickly. no news is sometimes good news.swiftwings88 wrote:Thats what I thought, its my reach and I have good softs, but if its an auto-reject why is it taking them so long? Auto admit numbers, I don't think you should have been worrying even it they took 3 months!vegenator wrote:Well, I'll be the optimist here. Question: Under status updates, it says:
Your JD application was processed on November 11, 2010
and then
Application was denied on November 18, 2010
I am assuming this means I'm out? Seems like a quick turnaround but at least glad I got a decision I guess...

Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
Just found out via status checker that my application was denied. I applied ED with a 165 LSAT and GPA just below their 75%. I have also been registered for a retake for a few weeks. Kind of surprised I didn't get waitlisted

Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
I sent you a PM. I'm really surprised by this too. Sorry man. LS admissions can be a little unpredictable sometimes. Don't give up. If you end up taking a year off, it's not the end of the world. I was very patient with my LSAT prep and application (2 years), and it really paid off for me. PM me if you need any help.iwanta170 wrote:Just found out via status checker that my application was denied. I applied ED with a 165 LSAT and GPA just below their 75%.
