Oh I didn't take note of who was the wife of someone famous. I came in during a dinner party scene. There was a guy cooking frozen Salmon and a woman with WAY too much plastic surgery offering psychic readings. Her face was mutilated. I don't say that lightly either, it was unbelievable. I don't think they will. If I were on the waitlist at Miami, I would make other plans and hope Miami came through later in the year. They accept a lot of people, expecting to yield very few of those accepted, but I think the sheer amount of acceptances allows them to fill the class.fdr123 wrote:would really like to know when they will start accepting people off waitlists? anyone have ideas?

Thanks for the insight. With the success you've had prior to law school, I have no doubt your chances at getting the most out of UM are great. It sucks to see the anchor your GPA has on your application. You've obviously done your research, are aware of what you are getting into, and won't be assaulted by interest on your loans because of the money you've saved. UM has a strong presence in south Florida; I've spent a good amount of time interning within the court system during my undergrad and there is no shortage of UM graduates, from the bench to the attorneys. I was actually considering Brooklyn (at sticker) over Miami as well, but I think overall Miami is better. At the end of the day Miami is a strong regional school in a region I would actually want to work. I went back and forth with it and Rutgers, but NYC is just not a safe bet from Rutgers. At the end of the day I like S. Florida more than New Jersey. Plus, although I could have gone to Brooklyn at sticker, Miami is actually a little cheaper, and I like the feel I get from the school.

Well we have ties to NY so that's a big plus. I know quite a few practicing attorneys in NY, so that could help too. I live right across the street from the Miami campus right now. It's not cheap. If money isn't an issue for you and you want to live close look into The Cloisters and Red Road Commons. You can walk to campus from either of those and they're both relatively nice.Justathought wrote: On a more serious note, does anyone have any housing suggestions?
