Finaid told me they won't have an official number for tuition until late May.

Schools don't even know how the budget crisis is going to shake out yet. I assume not having a tuition figure by now is an unusual event.

Re: University of Houston 2011
I am an admitted student, who spoke to someone who worked in the financial aid office last week, at an event for the school.
She told me that they would have tuiton & cost of enrollment sometime in the middle of the month.
I recently received my username and password for the schools system, and also in that email it told me I would be able to look at financial aid information.
Today, I found a page with cost of enrollment and all that. Above the numbers, it says they are estimates, and below them, it says tuition is subject to change.
But, I would gladly pay these prices. - 11772 per semester tuition & fees. $23544 per year.
I'm not really computer savvy, and I can't get a photo uploaded of my screenshot. I'll email it to you if you would like to see it though.

nah, we won't find out until later. this is cheaper than last year. that just doesn't happen.TheSkipper wrote:I am an admitted student, who spoke to someone who worked in the financial aid office last week, at an event for the school.

I agree - no way its less than last year. It's possible that this table is calculated differently than the other ones, and thats the source of the discrepancy. I'm posting the whole page.
------------------------
Estimated Financial Aid Budget
Financial Aid Year 2011-2012
Listed below is an estimate of items used to determine your costs.
Estimated Financial Aid Budget Breakdown
Spring 2012
Category Description Amount
Books and Supplies 600.00
Miscellaneous Personal Expense 1,312.00
Room & Board 4,900.00
Transportation 1,249.00
Tuition and fees 11,772.00
Term Total 19,833.00
Fall 2011
Category Description Amount
Books and Supplies 600.00
Miscellaneous Personal Expense 1,312.00
Room & Board 4,900.00
Transportation 1,249.00
Tuition and fees 11,772.00
Term Total 19,833.00
Total Cost of Attendance 39,666.00
Currency used is US Dollar.
The items listed above are based on costs associated with your academic program.
These costs are estimates only and are subject to change based on changes to academic standing, as well as other factors impacting tuition and fees.
I'd like to draw your attention to the last sentence above. These numbers could change. But this is what they say right now, if that helps anyone.
But that being said, this little section is the only part of the website with anything posted about financial aid/tuition. I would think that they wouldn't have this floating around automatically, especially since the page that linked to this had pulled information from my FAFSA form to generate this. But maybe. I'd definitely take it with a grain o' salt.

If tuition is that low next year I will be kissing the feet of the board of regents.
SKIPPER - can you PM me the navigation on how you got to that page? I'm logged into my PeopleSoft and can't seem to find the tuition estimates. Thanks.

hey guys, just went in review on the 8th. how long are decisions taking?
Houston is my alma mater so if anyone has any question about housing, area, bars, and the city I would be happy to answer them.
