Re: University of Houston 2011

I applied for PT. 161/2.5 - waitlisted on 5/5.
Not sure how many times I was reviewed before that, as I wasn't checking compulsively - after I got accepted to STCL, I started making plans to move to Houston and whether I get accepted to UH or not will have minimal impact in terms of what my life will be like in 6 months and the preparations that need to be made this summer.
Q: What is the difference between early decision and regular decision?
A: Early decision applicants whose files become complete by December 1 should expect to receive a decision by the end of February. Regular decision applicants should expect to receive a decision by mid May if applying to the full-time program, and by mid to late July if applying to the part-time program. The early decision option is not binding, and the only difference between the two options is the timing of the review of the application.
-FAQ

I'm not holding my breath (both because we have some time and because I don't have strong expectations of my chances).

No news? How disappointing! I wonder if acceptances have ever gone out on a Saturday?

I'm guessing there will be some movement by Tuesday or Wednesday once they sort out who committed and who withdrew.

Is anyone looking for a room mate? I'm a 25 year old white male. In the MBA/JD program. I was thinking about getting an efficiency at Calhoun Lofts but it is a bit pricey, so thats why I wanted to see if anyone else wanted to find like a 2/2 somewhere and save some money.

RENT $600
I have a room for a Town home that will be available on August 1st 2011. The Town home is 10 minutes from the University of Houston Law Center. It is located on 610 & Stella Link. The Town Home has 2bedrooms/2 bath. It has a kitchen, dinning room, washer and dryer a garage and a small backyard. The town home is in a gated area full of other town homes. The landlord for the Town home will be responsible for maintenance. It is just like living in a apartment. I will be going to LSU Law School so who ever wants to start the 12 month lease in August should send a message. The other room is vacant and has a separate lease. You will not be responsible for paying for the other room if you happen to live by yourself. I only pay $600 for a 3 story town home with 2 bedrooms and I'm by myself. So I'm lucky.

still waitlisted here.
If I were accepted and there were an issue with my check getting lost in the mail or a bank issue preventing the check from clearing, I'd be pretty upset if they'd given my seat away Monday morning because of it.
Give it a couple weeks.

I'm interested in this as well.
I never got an email or anything telling me that I was waitlisted, which I found surprising.

If I remember correctly, they did trim the waitlist a couple of times last year. I rode the waitlist out for FT until the end and did not receive an acceptance or part-time offer, but did not receive a outright rejection either. Communication simply ceased after the semester started.

Good luck to all of you still waiting!

I'll just say they valued my GPA over my LSAT score. Bit of a splitter.

does anyone know about making the switch from PT to FT? can you do that at UH? How does it work? can you do it at semester? I don't actually want to be a PT student - I just knew I didn't have the numbers to make it in FT.
Can I be technically classified as PT but just load up on hours?

nevermind:
Q: If I am accepted as a part-time student, can I switch to full-time at some point in the program?
A: After you complete your first-year curriculum as either a full- or part-time student, you may petition the Associate Dean for Student Affairs to be reclassified. These requests are granted on a space-available basis.
