Did I read that right? 152 and 3.0?

If this is true, I am rather offended. What gives UH?! My alumni love is wearing thin.

Yeah, I got $12k at CU, and got WL'd at UH initially. I'm just...what.

+1

ETA: Although I had no alumni love, I *did* work my ass off studying for the LSAT to get well above their median. /sigh

You got a scholly with both numbers way below median (3.0, 152) and not URM? Interesting.
UH confuses the hell out of me.
I have been begging them for a scholarship. Jut a 1,000 one to get in-state...2.9 and 162 yet...oh well. Congrats h0peful!

How are you phrasing the letter? I started one last night after seeing h0peful's scholly, but I couldn't figure out how to do it tactfully? :(

I never received the last email about the full time waitlist a few weeks back - I hope that isn't an indicator of the chance but rather just not sent because I had sent a LoCI a couple of days before.

Oh, I haven't. 38,000 a year is hard to commit to. As for the email, I said how the marines aren't helping me pay, how texas tech gave me a waiver, and how i got scholarships from other schools, but Houston is my number one, has been, but I don't want my debt to be 30,000 dollars more if a 1,000 dollar scholarship could get rid of it. nice, not obnoxious.

Try that... I think you have to request to join. It's called "U.Houston Law Center 2011 Admitted Students" if the link above doesn't work.

oh the power of the LSAT - and that's awesome.

the problem with UH scholarship money, or asking for $1k is...I don't think it works that way this year.

i think it is only in increments of $2500, $5000, $10000, and $12000/$15000 or above per year, and a one time Blakely thing for either $5000 or $10000

i'm thinking this because i initially got the tiny $2500 per year and negotiated to the 5k. at the 5k, i asked them to make it the same as SMU or UGA (7.5k would do the trick) and instead they bumped me to $10k. i've seen people on LSN with the 12 per year and i know one TLSer negotiated to 15 - these guys had superior numbers tho - t14 #'s

the blakely fellowship was originally $5k but they randomly emailed me and said it was $10k.

I think the Blakely can be 5 or 10. I wish they'd e-mail me and tell me mine is for 10k... lol. :x

I got a reply tonight from UH about the scholly. I was given a 1k scholarship, which gives me in-state. I am going to Houston! I want to say its because I am worthy with my numbers, but thats not true. My numbers are not great. I may be a special case because I am military. Still, exciting.
