Mine went from 1/4 to 2/8 a couple weeks ago, and no movement since.

I also did a little searching through this forum for people who's Review dates changed, and it was (out of about 9 people) 3 Admits, 3 Dings, and 3 Waitlists. So I don't know what it means at all.

I know it's based upon available seats, but some schools tend to be more willing to take applicants from the waitlist than others. Houston is my first choice and I would LOVE to be admitted from the waitlist. Already sent in my LOCI. Two letters of recommendation on the way, as well.
#s?
157/3.8
I'm a 1L at UH. I also had a 157/3.8 and was waitlisted. Over the summer I received an email with an offer to do part-time for a year with the opportunity to transfer to full-time in August that I took. I'd say about half of the people in part-time plan to transfer to full-time after 1L. I don't want to be a downer, but UH really just admits people based on LSAT. Undergrad GPA is pretty irrelevant. Luckily, most of the people who dominated the LSAT and had shitty undergrad GPAs also have shitty law school GPAs. I probably know grades for about 1/3 of the part-time section, and the people who did well (top 10%) had good undergrad records.

I really like my classmates and the law school. I'd recommend it to everyone, and I'd be happy to answer questions if anyone has any.
Thanks for the info. My only concern with going part-time is money. I live in Austin right now, so I guess I would have to look for work in Houston, in addition to starting law school, which seems like it could be a bit overwhelming. But I guess it is definitely something to consider. When you were waitlisted did you submit additional materials?

I was waitlisted pretty close to the notification deadline. Only additional thing was an email sent to the admissions people letting them know that I was still interested in UH. I don't think anything you send them will necessarily help you.

And I'd say a third of our class isn't working--people who plan to transfer to full-time. I'm going to work over the summer while going to class, but I haven't during the fall/spring. After 1 year of part-time you'll be at 26 hours; 1 year of full-time is 30 hours, so you wouldn't be very far behind. Pretty sure you get 3-4 hours of credit for being on a journal.

My current status says: Decision Rendered- Admitted which was on 2/16/2011, but I still haven't received an email or official word. Does that mean I'm in? Could I be waitlisted?

Hey I know a lot of y’all are just finding out about school. I am 1L in the part-time program at U of H. I had never lived in Houston before and was worried about finding an affordable apartment in a nice and safe area. My brother had a friend from school that is now a relator here and was really helpful. If you are anything like me, I didn’t want to go through a relator since I figure I was going to have to pay for it but I guess that is not true in areas not dominated by colleges. The apartment complex or owner pays the commission. Save yourself some stress; law school is enough on its own. If you have any questions about the area, I may be able to answer them but if you are looking for some place contact Rob.

I understand that UH is getting squeezed pretty tight with the state budget crisis, but that's a pretty weak offer for your numbers. Assuming I get something similar, I'll likely be withdrawing soon, as well.

Houston has become a non-option for me as I have better options on the table. Will wait to see if I get in and will then withdraw.

File in Review since 1/4. Any of you seeing changes?

156/3.8 so I'm not too hopeful.

Mine has been in Review since 1/4, then the date changed on 2/8, but that's it.

I went into review three times now. Once in december, again in january, and now 3/1. What the hell...I know my numbers are not all that solid, and UofH may be a reacher, but I have so much to offer...sigh.

I don't know what your GPA is, but a 162 is not historically a reach number for UH.

2.9 but I added a grade addendum for personal reasons for my lone bad semester and to highlight my grade trend (3.5-3.8 the past 2 years in primarily "law" courses). Maybe they'll read it.

Good luck man, our numbers are similar and I got in after a decent wait except I applied quite early.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
