Every time I think I have the courage to check my status, I bail at the last second. I can't do it. These DLS are just too scary.

Sorry to everyone who was hit by DLS today. =(

Luckily (?) for me, my OCD overrides any hesitation at seeing my dreams crash all around me.

Haha, I look at it like everytime to post it for someone or today to move it into the OP. Since my browser saves my PW anyways, I might as well check it . Safe today, phew . But yeah, it's definitely my scariest status checker.

For those of you talking about LOCIs, you're sending them before you've heard anything from SLS, right (I ask because normally people send them after a waitlist or a hold)?

Who are you addressing them to? Dean Deal?

Yes, people are sending before they hear anything. Dean Deal has said this is OK, as long as the update actually has some substance. In other words, use good judgment. I addressed mine both to Dean Deal and the admissions committee.

No, that's the "under review" status for Stanford, and is the final status until "decision letter sent."

DLS with call/email beforehand = (but in that case you'd already know the result)
