Haha, I think I have plenty of nerves for myself . Good luck, hopefully some more TLSers get calls today and tomorrow.cardinals1989 wrote:My heart definitely skipped a beat before I read the second sentence. Oh yes! That would be a great addition to your Why Stanford.r6_philly wrote:Yes I was searching for an authoritative opinion on the particular subject (it's 2010 cutting edge new) and the only credible reference from a law point of view was of Stanford origin. That's why I want to study at Stanford - it seem to offer the best education in a new legal frontier. Everyone else is not quite caught up yet.cardinals1989 wrote:I don't think the whole point of the update is that he contacted someone. This just leads into the fact that Stanford is at the cutting edge of his field, which is a legitimate and important thing for them to know.s0ph1e2007 wrote:
Yea they wont care. You update them on contacting someone at their school? I interviewed with two of their professors and both of them told me they have NO control over admissions. One of them even told me he had a Stan UG work for him for two years as a research assistant after graduating and he wrote him a ridiculously good recommendation, but they ended up not taking him anyways b.c. his application was right on the edge of dropping SLS's average LSAT down a point.
I'm sorry; I didn't understand you :/

just my .02 cents before there is a wave of Why SLS?s!- my app didn't have anything SLS-specific in the PS, but I did have two targeted letters from my recommenders. I believe they both used essentially the same LOR as for the generic one (but one did do post-doc work at Stanford, so maybe he threw a bit in there about SLS?).
From Dean Deal's blog, it sounds like they want to know how you fit into the SLS community, and how your puzzle pieces fit together (in her words ). I think it would be useful to ask yourself if you have already put together that puzzle in your original app before sending in an essay. It might already be clear why you are a good fit! They've got a ton more admitting to do, so if it were me I wouldn't starting sending in stuff until later (though I recognize the urge, as it's what I want to do as schools I haven't heard from ).
At least for me, I focused throughout my app on my interdisciplinary background, which seems to be one of their focuses at SLS...that said I didn't change my app between schools...

Man, if I got a call from Dean Deal tomorrow, it would be /cycle for me. Which would make for an awesome last semester of college.

Thanks for the advice. I feel like I had more room to say things in the Berkeley PS since I put in 3 pages lol I am happy with my PS. Maybe my piece just hasn't found the right place to fit yet?The Stig wrote:just my .02 cents before there is a wave of Why SLS?s!- my app didn't have anything SLS-specific in the PS, but I did have two targeted letters from my recommenders. I'm going to blame TLS-induced delirium for the many many inappropriate comments that jumped into my mind as I read that.r6_philly wrote:[Maybe my piece just hasn't found the right place to fit yet?

According to last year's thread, I don't think they started until after the New Year. Problem is they all come as snail mail. The rejection hits you and you don't even know it is coming.HopefulFish wrote:any news of rejections?

Why are you so focused on rejections? Hearing that someone else has been rejected does not make it more or less likely that you will be rejected. And it's just so negative!HopefulFish wrote:any news of rejections?

So, does anyone want to hazard an estimate of how many people have been admitted so far?

Stanford will be admitting people through April. And off the waitlist after that through the rest of the summer.Vertigo963 wrote:That would be great! I was afraid it was like two-thirds over.Knock wrote:Umm, <50. So like, ~300 more acceptances to go i'm guessing.

You guys are funny. What are you going to do until 1/5 or whenever they open back up?
