You want to do PI right? You'd love Boalt. Maybe.

I always thought Stanford is more corp/professional focused.

As a current SLS student, I don't think this is true. SLS has a vibrant PI community, and almost every 1L I know was involved with a pro bono project. The Levin Center's staff is amazing, and it's connections to PI organizations are fantastic. Even the students that do end up doing firm work in summers or at the end of the line are really involved in PI work at school.

Imost of us wouldn't know. :P

ETA: Boalt has a reputation for community involvement and civil engagement. No claim on the validity, obviously my observation is somewhat one-sided.

I spent a few months in Italy about two years ago. Not too much, though. Very small conversation bits, numbers, a few other grammatical things.

Oh, neat. I'm taking a class now so I was just wondering. Sorry to distract from the matter at hand.

Did anyone get admitted without hitting the wait-list after ASW last year? Or is the only gateway to acceptance via wait-list at this point? I have many friends waiting for word.

Just got an email offering me a spot on the wait list at Stanford (I have an upcoming scholarship deadline so they emailed me)!

Does anyone know how many people were put on/got in off the wait list last year?

Did you just e-mail to notify them about this?

I don't know the answer to this, but LSN is not encouraging. It has a whole page of people from last year on the WL, while two got in. (I checked, because I also got a WL.)

I forget my source, but I think ~ 12 people came off the WL this past year.

Call the admissions office.
I'd put money on them being happy to answer that question for you privately.
