And yes, judging by last year's thread, some of the recent DLS's are definitely waitlists.
What email address did you send the letter to?
admissions@law.stanford.edu ?
I've been contemplating sending a LOCI as well.
I wouldn't contemplate, I would do it since they are almost closing in on final decisions.

What's the general consensus regarding length for the LOCI, a page?

They'd email.
Ouch then...

DLS yesterday, le sigh... It was a long shot, but after they sat on my application for five months I was hoping for an admit. Now I'm just hoping for a waitlist.

Stanford applicants next year are going to look back on the last few pages of this thread and think, "What a bloodbath...." haha

I will very much hope for this as well if/when the DLS shows up. Good luck!

Waitlists should be coming out just about now....I'm guessing we'll see the first reported WL receive their letters sometime next week.

Hoping thats me!
Haha but seriously, I'm sure there are others like me but the longer I wait I feel like I may actually have a shot (even though it ain't happening).. C'est la vie

So I emailed my LOCI this morning and got a reply this afternoon saying it had been added to my file. That's a pretty quick turnaround, and it gives me hope that they actually are still considering me (instead of the alternative, which is that they've decided to ding me but haven't gotten around to mailing the letter yet).

I know the feeling. The wait with no news is giving me a false and quite possibly perverse sense of hope.
Sorry for all the new DLS's...hang in there everyone!

I'm not really sure a LOCI without some substantial new info to add to your application and without a decision yet would do much difference, atleast that's what I am banking on.
My letter would read something utterly pathetic like this:
"Hey Stanford, its been 6 months since I've been UR, still working the same job...Didn't retake the LSAT or cure caner... but I still really really like you guys, so make sure you admit me! As if you guys were worried that I didn't like YOU enough!"
Best of luck to us all still!

Another week of dead silence
. I really hope they finish up most decisions next week. I'm still in love with Stanford, but if it's not going to happen, I need to start making real decisions.

For any non-URM semi-reverse splitters out there, here is something to give you hope: IN via phone call yesterday morning. UR 12/9, 166/3.9, non-URM, 2 years of pretty unusual work experience. I still can't believe it-- SO excited. Good luck to everyone else who is still waiting! I'm sure you will get good news soon, too!

From what I gathered today at the NYU ASW, several people (okay, 4 outside of myself) have been getting calls from Dean Deal this week (Monday-Wednesday).

Damn... DLS No e-mail. If they called and didn't get through they'd send an e-mail correct?
Oh well. First rejection of the cycle...

Yep, they would send an email. Sorry about this
Could possibly be a waitlist?! None have been reported here as of yet.

No worries, I'm not bitter. My heart has always been in the Bay Area, and I was admitted to that other great Bay Area Law School so I'll be happy no matter what
