Can you log into your Marquette account and see if it is listed there for me? I got accepted in mid December. I will call I guess.

I would log on but I am at work and don't have my login information (and can't for the life of me remember what it is). I'll let you know as soon as I have the chance to log on.

I moved from Milwaukee to Albuquerque a year and a half ago, but would be happy to answer any questions about the city. I'm a 0L so I can't speak to the school itself, but I lived in SE WI for 26 years. It's a great city in a great state.

Is West Allis a decent area to live and commute to the school?

I live in West Allis now. It is decent to live in, short drive to school. But if you want lots of stuff to do with in walking distance you'd be better off living closer to campus.

I think I would prefer to be a little farther away from distractions, especially during my first year. I am seriously considering getting an apartment in West Allis for that reason. How long does it take to drive to and from the law school every day?

Depends on when you are going down. If it is the morning during rush hour I take the side streets and get down in about 20 to 25 min. But if it is non rush hour I can get there in 10 to 15 min.

Sorry if this has been covered, but does Marquette reimburse for ASW?

Reimbursement is payable only if the admitted student enrolls at Marquette University Law School in Fall 2011. The reimbursement will be payable after receipt of the second tuition deposit, due June 1, and will only be paid if the admitted student supplies a receipt. Reimbursement can only be applied to air fare to Milwaukee Mitchell Field Airport (MKE). Reimbursement applies to the air fare of the admitted student only. The visit must take place between now and June 1, 2011. Requests for reimbursement may be submitted between June 1, 2011 and August 22, 2011. The maximum amount of the reimbursement is $250.00.

I tried negotiating my scholarship amount and was denied. They said they almost never do it (I was told that in the last 5 years they have denied 100% of requests for more money). They sometimes award an additional $1,500 to $3,000 per year to REALLY high-achieving 2L and 3Ls but there are no guarantees that practice will continue. Pretty bummed.

I withdrew today after seeing tuition is now over 37 k.. Their scholarship offer is the equivalent to what I've gotten from tier 1 schools so it wasn't going to make sense for me to attend. Good luck everyone.

Nice. Are you sure you want to attend Marquette? They are in my top few choices b/c of their scholarship offer, but I'm not 100 percent sure...still have pending apps/scholarship decisions out there. I'm excited to see the new building though!

I will check tonight. Are you referring to scholly info or need-based?

I'm not 100% positive myself. I live about an hour away from there, so it would be great to be able to stay around family. I went to one of their open houses and the building is amazing!! I am yet to see anything that will hold a candle to it. I have a couple other schools that I will be visiting as well and I guess I'll just go where I feel most comfortable, but I have a feeling that Marquette will be high on my list right to the end...

Any wait list movement?? By this time last cycle they had sent out at least one email asking wait listed applicants to re-confirm their desire to stay on the waitlist...not sure if this is a good sign.

If you have received notification of your scholarship and financial aid award, then they're in checkmarq. You won't find the info there before they send letters, though.

Looks like I got $0. My award never came, and I got accepted in December. They are quite stingy with money. Higher ranked schools gave me money, and they gave me nothing? Oh well.

And as far as where to stay in Milwaukee...it depends on if you're driving or flying in and how much you're willing to spend of course. I live about an hour away, so I'll just be communiting the say of.

Waitlisted P/T via snail mail last week, 157/2.96. If anyone's seen movement, let us know! Also my letter says something like additional information or letters of recommendation will likely not have an effect on your chances of admission; does this mean don't send a LOCI?
