In via snail mail today. Visited over the summer, loved the new building. Enjoyed Milwaukee. Anyone know how stingy Marquette is with money?

I heard that they are stingy somewhat. Their avg. scholly amount is $7K-9K. Did any of the admiited candidates for Fall 2011 hear from Marquette regarding scholarship decision yet?uwgbluedevil wrote:In via snail mail today. Visited over the summer, loved the new building. Another thing to add is that they do not attach any GPA or ranking condition to renew the scholarship. It is guaranteed for all 3 years. So, they give little but it is secure.kartal wrote:I heard that they are stingy somewhat. Their avg. scholly amount is $7K-9K. Anyone know how generous/stingy they are with $$ for PT students? I don't really want to go PT, but thought I should apply a few places JIC...99% positive that I'm withdrawing unless they throw a bunch of money at me.

Re: Marquette 2011 Applicants
For anyone who is wondering, I called today to check on the status of scholarship info...the lady I spoke with said that although there's not a strict timeline of when they start delivering scholarships, or when they have to have scholarships delivered by, traditionally admitted students start hearing back mid-February through early March.
Also, in case anyone out there is in my boat, she said that they will not *usually* (but I got the feeling she meant EVER) allow a student who is admitted for the PT program reactivate their application for full-time consideration.

Wow, and that's all you got? Looks like I won't be getting much if anything. I guess I need to prepare to withdraw.

Got a $16k/year offer yesterday. No stipulations, just have to stay in school basically. Probably not enough of an offer to get me to sit through blizzards and -5 degrees all winter for another 3 years.

Re: Marquette 2011 Applicants
I just got back from a class visit that I enjoyed sooooo much. constitutional law. cases. soooo interesting. it was soo easy to follow with everybody else. law atmosphere. intimidating. professor. wow. intense and so charismatic. overall. excited. I would be so happy getting word of a scholarship soon. It would definitely help me make up my mind and close up this cycle. In the meantime... still indecisive.
yay for a good day!!

Yeah I cannot believe you didn't get more. If I don't get more than that there's no way I'm going. That sucks...jaydizzle wrote:Check out the poster's profile... Re: Marquette 2011 Applicants
Yeah I'm a little upset by the offer, especially when I've been offered more by nearly every other school I've been accepted at. But I want to leave Milwaukee anyways, so I had already determined the only way I would go to Marquette is with a full ride or close to. This just makes my decision a lot easier I suppose.irishvt14 wrote:Yeah I cannot believe you didn't get more. If I don't get more than that there's no way I'm going. I got my acceptance packet in the mail around Feb 1. When do you think I can expect any scholarship, if I get any?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
