Best of luck to you all with Yale!
It's always enjoyable for me to watch the Yale thread so I'm quite excited for it to start getting heated up. I wish you all the best before it starts to get hectic, and hopefully some of of the first calls go out to TLSers!

Cell phone is currently broken. Does anyone know if Yale leaves voicemails? Not that I'm likely to get a call, but it would help my mental health today...

Anyone received a call? Good luck everyone who is gasping at every flash on their cell phone!
Last year they started calling later the same week, so it's about on schedule.

Haven't even gone Complete yet, but would love to see some movement on here regardless. Good luck, everyone! <3

IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY BRAIN IS BUZZING. Got the call at 4:52 EST. I was driving at the time. I heard my phone vibrate as I was about to make a right turn, and when I put it up to my face, I knocked my glasses out of place and was apparently powerless to readjust them for the duration of the call. It's a miracle that both my car and all nearby pedestrians emerged unscathed.
Didn't get into Yale as an undergrad, and my bro graduated from Yale U a couple of years ago, so this one's particularly sweet.

Wow, same situation! My sister got in and I didn't. Except my sister turned Yale down (and I'm not in at Yale Law, either). CONGRATS!!!!! I KNOW that feels good.

I've heard that applying late to Y doesn't affect the chances of admission. How is this the case if seats are already being filled so early?

Basically, Yale appears to be rolling basis, but they admit students in "roughly equal numbers." To translate, they let people in as time progresses, but as long as you submit before the deadline, you will have an equal chance. The faculty will review every application submitted on time before admitting and filling the entire class, so the time you apply shouldn't matter. Yale's process for admissions is quite intriguing and will help further explain how their system works. I'll give you two links to look at which should further help explain the matter (from Asha's blog).

Damn. Seeing these acceptances makes me wished I submitted earlier... (I submitted 11/30). But congrats everyone!

Congratulations, everyone!! Must feel amazing to be in that first batch! Does anyone know how frequently Yale makes calls? Is it once every couple of weeks?

Anyone know what the correlation between app in -- decision time is? Do they seem to process as they come in, or is it really up in the air. A little cursory LSN digging seems to show somewhat of correlation -- but not necessarily week to week (i.e. -- last year, those who submitted in Oct tended to hear in Dec if accepted, though some heard much later, but that sample size is pretty small). I submitted almost as soon as the app went up, so I'm hoping they haven't already decided on all of us early applicants this year (I also submitted a one and a half page resume, which is apparently a big no-no -- reaaaally wish they'd posted those pointers when the app went up rather than a month and half after!
)
And congrats to those who got in!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
