Why not? Worst case scenario I'm out $100 and don't go to Yale. Since I don't have anywhere near a desireable LSAT score for YLS, I am really banking on a mistake in the admissions process.

I submitted the first day the app was available and had the dean's cert with my dean the following Monday. Here's hoping

Waiting to hear from H/S before throwing in my hat. Pretty sure acceptance to either one of those precludes me attending Yale. Just had JR1 so hopefully I hear in the late November batch.

I am sure you will get both, so I guess save your money for the plane tickets? :D

Impressive! I wish we could trade a couple of points for softs lol

Good luck! I certain admire your accomplishment, I keep thinking I should try for that score eventually because I can't let the test win...

In the world of calculating the likelihood of admissions, and as Dean Asha will surely recognize upon reviewing my application, the best chance I have in gaining admission is human error, and that is a chance I am willing to take.

I guess we will see what she has to say about this...

Although, I don't think you would actually send an application if you don't feel like you are qualified to be admitted.

Just submitted my app. It may threaten my masculinity, but I can only describe my current emotion as "eek!".

Also just realized they now require a Dean's Cert., so I have to get that sent still. Damn.

Has anyone received emails from Yale acknowledging receipt of the application? I haven't yet received one and I applied a while ago...

I haven't gotten one either, but I've noticed that the schools on your school list at LSAC.org only change from "Transmitted" to "LSAC Complete" after the school confirms to LSAC that they've gotten the materials (which mine did after a day or so), so I think they're just not sending out "received" e-mails.

Sent my app on 10/26. No communication as of yet. I didn't agonize too much over the 250--the topic came to me on a Friday night, and I finished writing and editing it the next morning.

I submitted on 10/16, I just got the following email regarding how they review applications. Thought I'd post since many of you may be curious about when to submit if you're missing components (such as LORs, LSAT scores, etc).
We have received notification from LSAC that you have submitted an application to Yale Law School. In order to make application processing as efficient as possible, we have asked LSAC to hold applications that do not meet certain criteria for completeness.

- If your LSDAS report is complete (meaning it contains an LSAT score, transcripts from the undergraduate schools which you attended, and at least two letters of recommendation), we should receive your application and LSDAS report from LSAC in a week and we will begin processing your application at that time.

- If your LSDAS report is missing only two letters of recommendation, we will receive your application once two letters are on file with LSAC or after December 1, whichever comes sooner. We will begin processing your application as soon as we receive it from LSAC.

- If your LSDAS report is missing either an LSAT score or undergraduate transcript, we will receive your application once both of these items are on file with LSAC or after January 1, whichever comes sooner. We will begin processing your application as soon as we receive it from LSAC.

We will contact you by email when your application is complete and ready for review. In the meantime, you can learn more about the Law School and the admissions process by visiting our Admissions Blog at http://www.law.yale.edu/203blog. You may also be interested in our Student Perspectives Blog, at http://www.law.yale.edu/studentperspectives, which offers a glimpse of the various aspects of student life at Yale.

We thank you for your application and appreciate your interest in Yale Law School

I figured they would be sending it to everyone who applied so far since I was by no means one of the first people to apply. I just figured I'd throw the email out for those who haven't applied and were waiting on LORs or scores....

Kind of an interesting way to send a "we've received your application" email though, made me worried mine wasn't being processed before I actually read it : /

I did not receive this email (or any other email), and my LSDAS report was successfully sent a while ago.
