+1 I'm over them, but unwilling to withdraw simply out of principle.jaydizzle wrote:Still nothing. I was complete 11/17. Honestly, what the fuck? I don't care about Baylor at all anymore especially after reading posts here. It would be nice to get some closure. If you are going to reject me, than fucking reject me. It's been over 4 months, I mean come on. Anyone else seriously pissed off? Baylor must be one of the slowest schools on the planet.

Same. I want a decision. I feel like I paid the $12 to get my shizzit sent to them, and this should merit getting some kind of decision.txag10 wrote:+1 I'm over them, but unwilling to withdraw simply out of principle.jaydizzle wrote:Still nothing. For people who have withdrawn, did you receive confirmation of your withdraw? I withdrew by email last Monday (3/14), but never received confirmation, and today on my status checker it said a letter from a professor was mailed to me on 3/18. I don't want any more stuff from them.

what is the point of withdrawling your application? Can applying somewhere hurt you in anyway?

I had to send an email twice to them. I was rejected for fall, too. They said they wanted me to come in Spring and I told them I don't want to go to your school period. Then the mailings stopped.thewarflamingo wrote:For people who have withdrawn, did you receive confirmation of your withdraw? I withdrew because I was waitlisted for fall and even if I got off the waitlist with a full ride, I still wouldn't go to Baylor over my other options. So no point in me staying on the waitlist.dtown16 wrote:what is the point of withdrawling your application? Can applying somewhere hurt you in anyway?
And no to your last question.

Ugh lame. Who did you email? I emailed the assistant dean or whoever it was that signed my waitlist letter.brose wrote:I had to send an email twice to them. I was rejected for fall, too. I emailed them this morning and they said decisions will be made for Summer applicants by the end of the week. Fall applicants will hear back by April 1st.

For anyone who's specifically upset at Baylor for being slow, they aren't the only school like this. I've been complete at SMU since November and all they told me was that I'd know by late April (after all the seat deposit deadlines have passed...) I'm not saying there's no reason to be irritated, but it seems like most people have at least one school that does this.

I agree. Schools have some technique where they definitely pick certain people to be in and certain people to be out. Then they sort of wait for deposit day to come and whoever accepted the acceptance is in and then they start sending out new acceptance letters to the people waitlisted. Decisions on acceptance can run almost all the way up to orientation. Admissions is definitely a waiting game.renee88 wrote:For anyone who's specifically upset at Baylor for being slow, they aren't the only school like this. I believe Baylor does multiple start dates in the year, right? So if you are waitlisted, at least you have the opportunity to be accepted three times a year instead of once...

Heh - I got the "waitlisted, but we will let you in 2nd quarter" letter. But, what was odd was the handwritten note at the bottom - "Don't be discouraged - we really want you at Baylor - hope to see you in the Spring."
I have already signed and deposited for full ride at UNM, so I didn't think much of it, but seeing all the angst on here - seems they tick some people off.
Oh well - screw 'em

If this is the case, then I should withdraw now...I've been accepted for summer, but definitely won't be going without $.FutureLitigator27 wrote:Sounds like the Fall class has already been filled....
