It's not fun waiting, but it's the situation a lot of people are in at a lot of schools...I'll be happy just to be accepted w/ $ part-time at SMU.

I still haven't heard anything back from Baylor. Are my chances pretty slim at this point or are they just slow as hell?

Re: Baylor 2011 "Decision letter mailed."---In at Baylor 2011
I got my letter, read the first paragraph and it said I was denied admission for the Fall Semester. I got mad and crumbled it up and threw it in the trash. About an hour later, I decided to read the whole thing and discovered that I had, in fact, been admitted for the Spring Semester if I reapply before April 15th.
I don't think I'm going to though - too expensive.

Just withdrew from the Summer start quarter AND the Fall quarter. Going to SMU instead. Good luck, all!

I don't know if I've popped in here yet, but I'm still waiting on a decision from Baylor.

I think quite a few people are waiting to hear if they get into SMU before withdrawing or sending a second deposit. Now I'm sure this isn't unique to this year so Baylor probably factored it into their yield but hang in there folks. Also, if you are seriously interested and haven't heard, think about asking to be considered for one of the other quarters. Unlike a PT program there isn't much of a downside (and you can normalize your schedule within a year or so) and it improves your chance of acceptance if you aren't asking for fall.

Anyone with $ a pretty heavy split? I was a 75/25 traditionally splitter for the summer and was accepted but no $. Asked to be reconsidered for the fall and haven't heard whether I was accepted or not.

I can't remember Baylor's exact numbers, but I think I was about a 75/25 split for fall and I received a $21k scholarship. My GPA went up from a 3.4 to a 3.5 after this last semester, and I can't remember if I applied with my new GPA for the fall semester or if it was still my old one, but for the summer semester I definitely applied with the 3.4 and still received $15k. (My LSAT is 164)mrwarre85 wrote:Anyone with $ a pretty heavy split? I was a 75/25 traditionally splitter for the summer and was accepted but no $. When I visited, they mentioned something about starting to consider people for scholarships if they have at least a 3.4. But, since you have such a high LSAT score for them, I would think they'd still consider you for money!

Not to be a killjoy or anything, but I would be very surprised if they offered you money for the fall, considering that they didn't give you any for the summer...

Yeah, spring might be your best bet for money if you really want to go there.RaspberryBeret wrote:mrwarre85 wrote:Anyone with $ a pretty heavy split? One of my roommates is definitely going and she will be starting in the summer quarter. She's too cool to make her own account (or so she likes to think ), so she's asking me to post on her behalf. If any girls are looking for a roommate for the 2011-2012 school year (Aug-Aug), she has signed for a fully furnished two bedroom apartment and is looking for a roommate, preferably a law student. The apartment complex is pretty nice (The Grove, if you want to google it) and is literally a two minute drive from the law school on a heavy traffic day.
