more decisions? As far as we know only that 1 has come out right?

Apparently one person on this board has gotten an acceptance e-mail. I don't exactly know where else to check for acceptance data. It's Friday night, go have a drink and forget about it all until Monday 8)

I've been drinking. I'm on vacation. Hot tub in 10 min.
YOU go have a drink! ;)

Wish I could!!! Stuck on a ship in the middle of the Pacific at the moment. We're busy keeping the world safe from illegal fishing practices. LOL. Pulling back into port soon though. Guess you'll just have to have an extra one to make up for my absence :D

The Coast Guard has satellite internet on its cutters. It can be slow as balls but it's better than nothing. If I couldn't check TLS and my status checkers or get e-mails about my applications I would be pulling my hair out. Actually now that I think about it I might be a lot less stressed since I would be forced to put it out of my mind. Enjoy your vacation, this will probably be the last easy year for a while...

The middle of November is upon us. Maybe all of us who applied in September will be lucky enough to hear back this week?

Does anyone know/remember how long after you submit your application and went LSAC completed it was before you received an email from Iowa saying your application was received and providing a status checker?

The average is 10-12 days.

Wow. That'd actually be the longest wait I've had this cycle. We'll see. Good luck! :D

FWIW,

My timing from last year:

12/4: LSDAS App processing acknowledgement
12/21: Iowa reports my app has been received and I got my Hawk ID link
1/14: Acceptance email

164/3.51

Good luck! I hope to see some of you around here for a tour or something. I'll be the tall dude talking to everyone and not being productive...

Could you kindly tell us whether the acceptance email was a formal notification? because I have received two emails now but both said formal notification would come later.

It read:

Dear Slimpee,

It is with great pleasure that I write to congratulate you on your
acceptance for admission into the Fall 2010 entering law class at the
University of Iowa College of Law. You will be receiving the formal
notification of your admission in a few days, but I wanted to be the first
person at our law school to give you this good news...blah blah blah other stuff

It was from the former Dean

A letter came a little while later but i'm not sure when

Through some freak accident, my letter arrived a couple days before the email.

I thought Iowa was pretty quick last year, no? Didn't they have some responses out by Thanksgiving? Maybe I'm delusional..

I'm not on my home computer but that may be the useless one (until/unless youre admitted.. then I guess it becomes useful)

Yeah it seems pretty useless...but it is their version of that status checker, is it not?

No... like I said I'm not on my home computer but you'll get another--actual status checker later.

OH...haha...OK because this one didn't make a ton of sense. In the status area is just says "in progress" and it is rather difficult to understand how to navigate.

Ah, sorry to hear that. Now might be a good time to prepare a letter of continued interest. I know they accepted several people off the waitlist last year. In fact, one of my classmates was prepared to attend a T3 before she got admitted in the summer.

Do you know if htere is a difference between regular and preliminary waitlist from the past cycles?
