preliminary waitlist as well :(

3.714 UGPA, 3.51 LSAC GPA, 165 LSAT

I'm pretty surprised by this, these seem like exceptional numbers for Iowa in past cycles.

Idk-- Iowa was all over the place last year. Pretty much why I had thought I had a shot. From the responses I've gotten thus far, I think this cycle is a little less competitive than last. Iowa doesn't seem to be following that. Maybe these preliminary waitlists are kind of like "decision pending" at UF. There are still a bunch of people who have great numbers on it. Some will get off quickly, some later, and some will not ever get off... but pretty much much of it will see movement-- they just want to see what the cycle will be like first.

Hurray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got an e-mail today, I was just accepted.

Lol, they were very nonchalant about it. I got a very short e-mail asking me to confirm my address for my acceptance letter, and that was it.

Glad to get in, definitely on my short list. Come on scholarships!!!!!

Congrats! Did your status update say "In Review" prior to your acceptance?

No, it had said "Decision Rendered" for over a week now.

Congrats. I don't know of any extra financial advantages for veterans, though you're eligible for instate during 2/3L if you work as an RA/TA.

Also got the acceptance e-mail today. They must like vets. 3.67/164. I haven't looked at my status checker in several weeks. I decided to just wait for e-mails or snail mail after getting confirmation that everything was received. I think it makes things less stressful and more exciting. I wonder if the acceptance letter will say anything about scholarships (not that my numbers deserve anything).

The dean of admissions here is a USMC veteran.

As for scholarship info, it should arrive separately after the acceptance letter.

It looks like I was accepted the same day as I went up for review. I found out in a strange way. My status said decision rendered. So I called and they emailed me the decision about an hour later. Not sure why I got in so fast. I can let you know what kind of aid I get, if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the info about the dean and the scholarships. Congrats to everyone else who has been admitted and best of luck to those awaiting a decision. Go Steelers.

I went in review on 11/30. I'm expecting a 2-3 week decision turnaround.
