Re: UC Davis 2011
I've been in "evaluation in progress" for about 2 weeks now. I applied to 18 schools and have heard back from all except Davis. Davis was one of the first schools I applied to too, back on January 7th. I'm not the least bit surprised though, like many of you have said before, they are notoriously slow. I won't be surprised if they take a few more weeks to get back to me to tell me if been dinged or waitlisted.

Almost that time again...
For me to check and see that I am still awaiting evaluation.

I was waitlisted 4/5, sent in my LOCI 4/6. I'm planning on sending in a second LOCI within the next few days. What should i focus on this time?

Re: UC Davis 2011
So, I've been in evaluation since late April - does anyone think it would be wise to send an LOCI? I am starting an internship next week - and I'll be updating all of my wait-list schools with the good news - but I don't know if that would be appropriate for Davis since they haven't even made an initial decision yet. Any ideas?

I visited the school last week and they seemed pretty adamant on not sending any additional material, including long form LOCI. Simply checking 'continued interest' on the status check website once would be enough.Mike088 wrote:I was waitlisted 4/5, sent in my LOCI 4/6. i got this impression as well. I spoke with the dean directly and she kept stressing that our interest would have been satisfied by the original application so there is no need to send a LOCI.uhhhh wrote:I visited the school last week and they seemed pretty adamant on not sending any additional material, including long form LOCI. Re: UC Davis 2011
This is getting absolutely fucking ridiculous! It's May 12 and I'm still AWAITING evaluation. Davis admins perhaps fail to recognize that having my app reviewed is not a privilege; it's something that I paid for.
These jerk-offs need to get off their lazy, ostrich burger laden asses and review the fucking applications, NOW! Every other school that I applied to has rendered a decision long ago while Davis has yet to open my file. All this for a *pretty good* school with an average reputation at best.
Forgive the vent from this first time poster (though long time TLS faithful), but this is a fucking joke...

Applied way back when, waitlisted today via status checker, pissed that they've wasted my time, withdrawing ASAP.

Also waitlisted to day via status checker. I'm going to stick it out. I figure, what is there to possibly lose? I already lost my patience, and my mind - I'm ready for a long summer with 6 waitlists - bound to get in off one...?

Well, if no one else is going to answer this...Bearlegdairy wrote:Are there ostrich burgers in Davis?
Yes, there are ostrich burgers in Davis, at Redrum Burger (Murder Burger). They are...interesting, but nothing out of the ordinary. There are also very tasty duck nuggets at Little Prague, if you are set on eating an unusual bird.

Re: UC Davis 2011
FINALLY IN EVALUATION!!!! Thank god. I was starting to think that I'd have to pay a second deposit installment at another school before even hearing from Davis. At this point, even though I know I'd be ecstatic to get in and would definitely go if I did, I'm so tired of waiting for them that I don't really care what they decide. I just want to know one way or the other. Also, does anybody know if it's okay to send an updated transcript and resume after graduating? I know that they typically don't want people to send them stuff once the application is complete, but spring semester grades, awards and graduation honors seem pretty important to me. I mean, if they haven't made a decision on my application yet, I definitely want them to know that I'm graduating with academic distinction and with both latin and departmental honors. Those things could (and should?) be influential right?

Hastings has already begun taking off their waitlist, I hope well start seeing waitlist action with Davis as well soon.

Davis hasn't even finished making initial decisions for many. If you're waiting this one out, I'd get comfortable.Mike088 wrote:Hastings has already begun taking off their waitlist, I hope well start seeing waitlist action with Davis as well soon.

Woot! Went "Evaluation in Progress" sometime this weekend. I almost didn't even notice it because I was so used to the same screen every time. At least it can't be more then a month till I have a decision now.... Hopefully

Re: UC Davis 2011
I received my waitlist letter recently and submitted my waitlist response and LOCI a few days after via their website. I called the admissions office asking if I could come in for a tour and the woman pretty much gave me a long list of reasons NOT to visit although never directly saying I shouldn't (classes are over, most buildings are under construction, no faculty or students are around). After talking to her and reading this forum, it looks like I shouldn't stop by the admissions office to ask for a tour. What do you guys think? And should I refrain from calling or emailing the admissions office for now?lsatextreme wrote:i got this impression as well.
