Perhaps... that's true. But the same could easily be said about Boston College, and yet they Held my app for some reason.
So you stayed @ Awaiting Evaluation until now, and you're still at AE?

Re: UC Davis 2011
I just checked and it changed to decision has been mailed. It was at Application Received - Processing in Progress for a long time, and then Awaiting Evaluation for a while.. but I don't know exactly how long. I didn't expect anything to happen for another month or two, end of January at the earliest, so I stopped checking as frequently.Aggiegrad2011 wrote:Perhaps... that's true. Hm, I stopped looking too, but I checked today. I am really, really worried about having made a mistake on my resume or PS or something.calilaw wrote:I just checked and it changed to decision has been mailed. Don't let the wait make you worry about stuff like that. You'll go crazy. I have a feeling my acceptance was incredibly early for Davis, I'm not sure why I heard back so soon. You're still with the vast majority who haven't heard anything. Just have confidence in your apps and something good will pan out, I'm sure of it

Yep, you're past AE, now you're in review basically. I'm so jealous!20140723 wrote:Mine says "Evaluation in Progress." Is that a step further along than Awaiting Eval? I've been out of the country for awhile so I only just recently started checking status checkers.

Way to go! It feels like sitting in a traffic jam and finally seeing cars in the distance start to move.Aggiegrad2011 wrote:Yep, you're past AE, now you're in review basically. awaiting eval as well. Just sent in my fall grades as I've read elsewhere that Davis 'prefers' to consider them.

He wants to work in the midwest and he's at a school in CA. It's recognized that UCD is a regional school. If he wanted to work in Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, Lodi, Manteca, Lathrop, Escalon, etc... he'd be fine.dmerrill2 wrote:I don't want to dash your lifelong dreams, but this guy was from Davis: http://abovethelaw.com/2010/12/above-th ... ight-thing.
Anyone considering attending a school not in the top 5-7(ish?) in a geographic location other than where they want to practice should either be doing so very inexpensively or have an otherwise good reason for it. This bloke did not and for him it was a good choice.
I'm unswayed.

TBF, I knew this guy personally and I can tell you this: he flat out wasn't cutting it in law school. While he tried to play it off as a purely financial decision, he was getting absolutely reamed by several professors in class discussions because he didn't know the material very well. It was to the point where most of the section genuinely felt sorry for the guy after the classes in which he spoke. I'm pretty sure he bombed our graded contracts midterm (that was the word among the students in our section), and he dropped right afterwards. I like the dude, but his statement that "I'm doing fine academically" was not even close to the truth. With that said, 1L's should still take these types of articles into consideration when deciding whether to attend law school. Bitter truth: It's tough out there, and not everyone is getting what they bargained for. I just don't want anyone to think that he represents our class as a whole.dmerrill2 wrote:I don't want to dash your lifelong dreams, but this guy was from Davis: http://abovethelaw.com/2010/12/above-th ... ight-thing.

I was in his section as well and can vouch for this. Take the ATL article with a grain of salt.

Actually, I stand corrected. He just PM'ed me and provided proof that he did not bomb the midterm. However, my account of the beating that he took in class was accurate.yo! wrote:TBF, I knew this guy personally and I can tell you this: he flat out wasn't cutting it in law school.
