I hope this is true for incoming students as well!

I got an email yesterday informing me that I didn't receive the Kramer full-tuition scholarship, but that the committee decided to increase my scholarship offer anyway. I had already planned on emailing an admissions counselor this weekend about the school's curve and the percentage of students who retain their scholarships. Hopefully, they will send me the same information about abandoning GPA cutoffs. If so, CWRU will cost (overall) about 75K less than OSU for me.

I was at a party, and all of a sudden I hear SCREAMING. It was the topic of the night. People went to drunkenly call their families, keeping cheering. Totally made everyone's night, since... it's a lot of fucking money on the line. So far though, the new dean is off to a great start.

I received a similar email as the current students (I'm a prospective). This was a really welcome surprise and makes my decision a little more complicated.

I received the same email this morning. I have to choose between paying $15k/year at Case and $40k/year at OSU. Now that I know the money at Case is all but guaranteed, I am going there.

I received an email about a month ago with pdf files of all the necessary financial aid documents. The financial aid director stated that the documents were currently unavailable online while they were updating the website.

Let me know if you want me to forward you the entire email and attached documents.

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone knows what exactly the stipulations for the Kramer scholarship are. The form and the email said kinda different things. I'm just curious but excited to do whatever it takes.

I assume you are one of the lucky three winners. Congratulations! I applied but didn't get it. (However, the committee decided to increase my scholarship offer anyway). The application email outlined the stipulations as:

-satisfactory academic performance (2.33 GPA?)
-full participation in public interest internships and activities
-a willingness to meet with and/or send a letter of thanks to the donor family

If the email / form you received after winning it said something different, you should just contact the financial aid director and ask for some clarification.

that's hilarious. I always wondered if schools ever did this. They must have not been able to fill their class and realized they got overzealous with their rejections.

Last second grooming of the class, probably. They may have gotten too conservative after letting too many people in last year. If it works to your benefit, great.

I will be attending Case Western next fall (just sent in the second deposit) and am looking forward to meeting everyone at the entering students day next month. I feel very relieved and excited to have finally chosen a school.

See you there! I agree, after the scholarship offer it solidified my decision in attending Case and I am now extremely relieved that this process is over.

I had originally been offered 18,000 a year, but had decided not to attend months ago. About a month ago, the new Dean called me and asked what it would take to get me to go. I suggested more money. Just got an email that offered me 30,000 a year. Now I dont know what to do.

That's cool, but we must really be hurting for people if we're calling back people who rejected us.
