Bummer. It happens, though. I'm a corporate recruiter who interviews people for a living and I've missed one or two interviews by scheduling it on the wrong day. This is what I would do:

Send an email to the adcomm with whom you were scheduled to meet, or if it was a professor, send it to the adcomm contact you have. Say that you didn't receive a call at the scheduled interview time and you would like to see if they would have the availability to reschedule, as you are still interested in pursuing your academic relationship with CWRU.

Thanks, did that and got it rescheduled... for next Friday. Sigh. Oh well, a week in the grand scheme of things isn't much... just 4 more years taken off of my life from the stress of WAITING. WAITING. MORE WAITING. Hope CW likes drama queens!

Don't sweat it too much. Interviews are like first dates. It's a chance for both parties to get a feeling for the other person. Remember, they're just as vested in impressing you as you are in impressing them. Good luck next Friday. Let us know how it goes.

Any word about scholly info other than the mistake mentioned earlier? Are they really going to wait until right before the seat deposit is due to distribute scholarship money?

I am starting to get worried. I was accepted over a month ago and have yet to receive anything in the mail or anything pertaining to scholarships. I understands most of this stuff is online, but I'd really like to see it in writing.

It was mentioned a few posts ago that Feb 15 is their target.

Doesn't give much time to think it over and/or negotiate.

It is if all the schools you're negotiating with give quick answers but some schools like to take a lot of time.

Got an email with my scholarship offer today. I would be happy to share details via pm. I also talked to a friend who is a 2L at Case about the grade distribution. He said 1L median is about 3.0.

Well, it appears they're using a similar scale in terms of scholarships. They've only bumped the top one that isn't a full ride and added 18k/year.

Full Ride
38k/year
30k/year
20k/year
18k/year
15k/year

Tuition, which was 40,500 this year, will probably be around 42,000 this fall.

I assume some of you are getting specialized scholarships that don't carry the GPA requirement. And for those of you who are getting the GPA req, is it still 3.15 (full) 2.8 (half)? Last year was the first year they added it.

By the way, some people whined last year about a line in the scholarship that said you might have to assist with tours, phone-a-thons or whatever. Nobody has had to do that AFAIK. There is a program for that and it is strictly volunteer.

I'm curious because you and I have identical numbers. I just want to see what they are going to offer.

Looks like a 160 LSAT is the cutoff line for scholly's so far. This is pretty discouraging news for me, as I am sitting on a 158/3.61. Case is far and away my top choice in terms of academics/location, but I don't think I can stomach that much debt over my head.

I know my numbers don't stick out from Case's medians, but I really want to get at least $10k before even thinking about attending. Looking at previous applicants with similar numbers on LSN, I thought I might be able to squeeze $15k per year after negotiating.

Does anybody have any tips for negotiating with Case? It looks like they don't give more than $10k per year if you aren't at the 160 LSAT mark, but I'd love to be an exception to the rule. I should have decent but not great leverage by about March.

Does Case negotiate scholarship $$$?? I was offered 96000 but have a better offer from a school ranked 30 spots higher. I would rather go to Case but I am interested in hearing or not past students have had luck negotiating?

I negotiated from $15k to $19,500 per year. I e-mailed the Dean, when she didn't respond I called. I gave her my speech about loving case, wanting to go here, but needing more money. She asked me about other schools, and told me my grades were super low (I had a 3.16 at the time), I told her I had a 3.8 that semester, and I'd really appreciate if it she considered increasing my scholarship. An hour later I got an e-mail with the new scholarship amount. I mean, it's not much. But, I literally had almost nothing to work with. I had a 161, 3.16, and didn't get into any higher ranked schools or get more money from peer schools. So, really, it's just all about asking. Perhaps if I had had more leverage I could have gotten more money, but, I was still pleased.
