Boston College Applicants Thread
Anyone else on here applying to BC this fall? I'm looking to return home to Boston for law school and am set on either BU or BC.
I'm just trying to meet other hopeful candidates for the class of 2014.

I'm applying. It's sort of a safety for me, but since I want to eventually work in New England, I'm definitely considering it if I don't get into my favorite T14 schools. I am probably going to write a Why BC essay, so that they know that my interest is serious.RPK34 wrote:Anyone else on here applying to BC this fall? Yeah, I only want to get into a Boston firm in hopes they'll have Pats/Sox season tickets that I can leach off.Entchen wrote:I'm applying. I've got a 3.75/166 right now (waiting for the Oct score, which I think I did at least a few points better on). But even if I did much better I think I might favor BU/BC just to people able to be back around Boston.

Applying as well. It is a little bit of a reach for me with a 3.3 166 but I hope its a realistic reach.
Has anyone heard anything from them (status checker or app received emails)?

I submitted to BU on 10/11 and got an email today confirming my application was received. They will email again when the file is complete, which they said could take at least three weeks.

I received that e-mail as well for BU, but this thread is for BC.Kiwi917 wrote:I submitted to BU on 10/11 and got an email today confirming my application was received. They will email again when the file is complete, which they said could take at least three weeks.
I haven't received anything from BC yet - no confirmation of receipt; no status checker; no "complete" e-mail. However, I called BC earlier this week, and the person in the office said that my file is listed as "complete".

Well, that was stupid of me. Sorry everyone. I submitted to BC as well, though, and have not received any confirmations yet. Thankfully, I was a bit more careful in proofreading my PS and addendum for BU/BC mixups (though this post prompted me to obsessively review everything I submitted...)tttlllsss wrote:I received that e-mail as well for BU, but this thread is for BC.Kiwi917 wrote:I submitted to BU on 10/11 and got an email today confirming my application was received. I just finished up my application today, and I'll hit submit as soon as Oct scores come out. It's a reach with my current numbers (3.3/164), but hopefully it won't be with my new LSAT.

Re: Boston College Applicants Thread
I will be applying for sure as soon as I get my Oct. score. It's a reach for me now with a 3.9/161, but am hopeful that I'll be in a better position with my new score. Any ideas of where one would need to be with a 3.9 to get some $??
I've never actually been to Boston, but really like what I do know about the area and BC.

I applied, big reach but I figured it was worth a shot. I applied mid-late September and have not heard a peep from them

Last year, it seems the first week of December was the beginning. Says LSN.

Did anyone get a merit fee waiver (solicited or unsolicited) from BC?
Please say URM/non and #s if you don't mind.

Re: Boston College Applicants Thread
I submitted my application last Saturday, but I'm terrified my LSAT of 162 isn't good enough to get me in. I also have a 3.85 GPA (top 5%). When I put in my stats into Law School Numbers, it predicts rejection/waitlist for me. Do you people think Boston College has a holistic approach to the admissions process? I was hoping for an acceptance, as my fiance goes to grad school in Boston. I think I have solid work experience and essays, but I just don't know how much essays can make or break your application when you're not in the 25-75 percentile range. Thoughts?

I got a BC unsolicited fee waiver today, and I intend to apply.
I'm non-URM, but very nontraditional with 2 1/2 years of combat experience in the Army along with a lot of other W.E. I'm a 162 1st-time-score LSAT with a 4.01 LSAC GPA[after this quarter's grades post] (and 99th percentile, Highest Honors B.A.)
