Is sending in a LOCI before you receive a decision frowned upon? I thought my #s were pretty strong for Cardozo, and it's pretty high on my list, but I've been under review since 1/10.

It's probably YP with your numbers, a LOCI with something about why Cardozo should help. To be honest though, why Cardozo? You have some really great options already!

Thanks! A big part of me wants to stay in NY and since I'm interested in PI, I was hoping to get some $$$ from Cardozo. Also, I have a minor intellectual crush on Barry Scheck, so, yeah, there's that. I guess I'll rephrase that part in the LOCI though.

Jesus. If you are going to rely on TLS to make your decision for your own future, you have much bigger problems.

I did not in any portion of my posts say that I'm going to rely on TLS for my future. I was merely pointing out an assumption based on the logic of posters on TLS.

Does anyone know when decisions are made for the part-time program? I would imagine soon as it starts in late May.

I'm still waiting on May too... I need to give my boss a 4-week notice that I'll be officially leaving too, so they can let me know any day now!

I applied to May in November and I heard back in January. Their decisions for May are rolling.
Good luck!

I applied to the May part-time program on 1/7 and they accepted me like month later. Good luck!
To those of you applying to the May program - Do you guys have a job or do you just not mind paying full tuition? I'm just wondering because like I stated earlier, I've been accepted to the May program but I'm not sure it's worth the money.

I actually applied to the full time program and found out at the end of January that I was waitlisted. They asked me at that point (via email) if I would also like to be considered for the part-time program, so I figured might as well. But haven't heard anything since. I wasn't aware at that time that there were no scholarships given out for that program.

Got that big packet of booklets yesterday- their PI book is really, really good. I didn't think I wanted to go here, but between them being the cheapest school so far and their solicitations, they're moving on up in the running!

Placed on 'Hold,' which I'm informed is 'like the waitlist but more highly ranked.' Whoopty-fucking-doo.
Anybody have odds on getting money in this situation? No way I'd go at sticker when I've got scholly offers at better ranked schools. I'd like to keep one NY option open, but wondering whether I should just withdraw and get it over with...

Are you being facetious because I'll be honest, blunt answers like that usually come off as just asinine to me, especially considering you applied there. And quite frankly, u dont exactly have the acceptances to come off as elitist or conceited...
Ive visited the school and of what Ive read and heard from graduates and students there, its a great school if you are looking to do something other than big law. I think around 10% of students do get big law but its not something you want to count on going in. Faculty also seem very devoted and committed to the school and its vision and they push the fact that they are still a relatively young law school and arent contrained by old traditions that dont work. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
He soon will. Those numbers are basically a lock if you are black to get into at least a t20 school. More likely t14.

Re: Cardozo 2011
Perhaps, but the first part of my argument I stand by...its still asinine to make a comment without any info to back it up. "dont go" does not qualify as advice.
He probably meant at sticker. Going to a school in NYC with it's high cost of living with only 12% shot at biglaw is comparable to financial suicide unless independently wealthy.

Can someone get a scholarship after their first year in law school even if they initially attended the law school at sticker?

whats the discrepency?
I would like to think that that's accurate, but I'm pretty sure those numbers are prior to the recession.
Yes, see the update below.
