Re: Cardozo 2011
Nothing - I just meant as far as anything being said, it would be between prospectives - not Cardozo officially putting down Fordham.
I was at a table where a lot of people had a lot of waitlists (not me, but other people) and all of us were WLed at Fordham. That's all that we said about it, though, no dissing or anything. I've heard good and bad things about Fordham...if I got in, IDK if I'd go because I wouldn't get any money, but I'd consider it. I know a few people got better schollys at Cardozo and are prob choosing it over Fordham, because they figure it's worth it...they can do better at Cardozo, get better $ scholarship wise and it's not THAT big of a difference in the rankings to justify otherwise.

Same issue for me kinda Fordham at sticker or Dozo with $$$ I think Dozo great school with such an upside, but I have no interest in Public interest and Fordham is #3 in NYC as far as Big Lawadevotchka wrote:Woods, Elle wrote:There wasn't really much.
One of the professors at one point was saying Cardozo really excels at something, "unlike a school you may be considering that we won't name but starts with an F..." to laughter. Then when they introduced the Dean, they mentioned that he previously worked at "that school that starts with an F," (referencing the earlier joke). That's all I picked up on. If anything else was said about Fordham, it was among prospective students as far as I know.
What were the prospectives saying (if you don't mind me asking). I know there are always a ton of cross admits between the two schools. I have a few friends who picked Dozo over Fordham and recently graduated, but I'm curious what everyone else is weighing in on.

Is there a major difference between Fordaham and Cardozo regarding job prospects? My understanding is that there is a very minimal difference between any school out of the top 20.

Fordham sends 25% to Biglaw, Dozo sends 12% .lawfreak wrote:Is there a major difference between Fordaham and Cardozo regarding job prospects? My understanding is that there is a very minimal difference between any school out of the top 20.

Re: Cardozo 2011
My friend who is a headhunter for big law in NYC says, "top 25% for Fordham, top 10% for Cardozo." Outside of that, good luck but it's not gonna happen 9 times out of 10.kruiz88 wrote:Fordham sends 25% to Biglaw, Dozo sends 12% .lawfreak wrote:Is there a major difference between Fordaham and Cardozo regarding job prospects? Ultimately, his advice is go to the school where you can be at the top of your class. That's the most important thing.

Re: Cardozo 2011
I had a post on this. Dozo with $$$ over Fordham. The lesser the $ the closer Fordham over Dozo. If you want big law, top 25% at Fordham and top 10% at Dozo. Easier to be top 25% at Fordham than top 10% at Dozo, so better shot at Biglaw for big$$$..blacklawboss wrote:So Fordham at sticker over Dozo with $?abonda01 wrote:Ultimately, his advice is go to the school where you can be at the top of your class. Or at least that's the consensus of a website with mostly 0L's.

Went complete and under review Feb 10, have heard nothing since. Why the wait Cardozo? Did they forget about me?

Cardozo's priority application deadline has been extended to April 1.
I wonder what that means.

Is that for the May program too?asparagus18 wrote:Cardozo's priority application deadline has been extended to April 1.

On a different note... How do most people take notes in Cardozo, by laptop or hand? How many hours of study a day does the average first year part timer study?

Under review since 2/1 and nothing either. I called 2 weeks ago, they wouldn't even give me ballpark estimate, I'd imagine we'll hear by April 30th.lawscholar20 wrote:Went complete and under review Feb 10, have heard nothing since. Why the wait Cardozo? Did they forget about me?

Re: Cardozo 2011
I heard the majority of people take notes on their laptops. Apparently a very Mac friendly school. I think they were saying about 4 hours a day, but most like to break it up in the morning and afternoon. Still haven't gotten a real answer on what a typical day looks like (ie. "I'm in class 10-12, then have off then another class 2-4") or anything like that, which is what I'm really curious about.lawfreak wrote:Is that for the May program too?asparagus18 wrote:Cardozo's priority application deadline has been extended to April 1.

Re: Cardozo 2011
So I was informed in early March that I was waitlisted for FT and offered the chance to be considered for the PT program... I am wondering if anyone knows the latest date they will inform people of whether they are in or not for the PT program that starts May 17th? I am from out of state and willing to jump at the opportunity to go there immediately, but would like an idea since I have to book a flight home for my sisters wedding in June.

I just got in with full tuition.......
I was sort of planning on taking a pass on law school all together, but huh. Full tuition is of course attractive.
