Crowell is a Dawg. Too bad he will be forced to take a red shirt and then be second string behind Carlton Thomas...

I got my scholarship info today, they gave me the tuition equalizer for the SPRING semester only. Is this normal? I thought they gave it for the whole first year?

Some people get the whole year, others get one semester. When you factor in how easy it is to obtain in state tuition, it winds up being a good deal nonetheless.

There are a couple of us that went under review in December and have stayed that way throughout.alexmcd wrote:Applied nov 1 with the same numbers (in state) and still "under review"...i don't get it?The Weather wrote:Held this morning..... 165/3.5 oos, sent in my application exactly 21 days ago.

Are there many in-state applicants on hold?

Got my letter this afternoon. Instate plus 5k a year with a 2.7 GPA requirement. Go Dawgs, where do I sign?

I know you love me Georgia, and don't want to let go, but let's be reasonable here. You've been holding my app for a really long time, and it's time you let go. Thanks.

Just got my letter and it's "tuition reduction" scholarship- so in-state tuition for spring semester only. Seems kinda good but I can't really see it over $24,000 a year at Alabama...

FWIW, Birmingham seems to recruit pretty heavily at UGA;creader wrote: If you manage to get instate at Alabama the scholarship drops down to 15k, meaning full tuition is covered, but you don't get to pocket the extra 9k. I also grew up in Atlanta and am at UGA finishing my undergrad now, so I understand the wanting to go here as it has been a goal for four years, but I also have family in Birmingham involved in law, so that makes 'Bama pretty attractive. But to be honest, its probably going to come down to the last minute, they were the only places I applied to, and the only places I want to go, so who knows. I probably won't until it comes time to put out the deposit.

Got my letter yesterday. Mailperson shoved it into my box and crumpled it. She also left my ug diploma in a puddle right on the front porch instead of against the house and it was wet. Thanks.

Based on what I've seen, the "holds" look like future acceptances (numbers-wise anyway)...not sure what that means for people still under review.

The 24k at Alabama is a better deal financially for me if I could keep it. I'm worried they would section stack and then I would be out of around 60k. Plus I go to undergrad at UGA and am settled in here. So most likely here is where I'll stay.

My sister's friend just got accepted with a 165/3.66. She is in state, but I'm not sure how much that really helps at UGA, especially before WLs.jarv1506 wrote:165/3.6 oos, here. Instate at all state schools is a boost. Some (I know for a fact UNC Chapel Hill for undergrad) actually have set quotas for percent of instate students required per class.Sandro wrote:in state at UGA is a boost.

FWIW I had a chat with a professor at ASW who assured me that they do not section stack. But yeah that scares me a little too.creader wrote:LttleBlakDress wrote:Just got my letter and it's "tuition reduction" scholarship- so in-state tuition for spring semester only. Okay let me qualify my post - UGA's boost is somewhere in between the boost that all state schools give and UNC's boost.
