Re: Georgia 2011 Applicants
I agree with Barbie: don't lose hope! I checked LSN and last year there were a few people who went complete really early and didn't hear back until January or February. (Sidenote: that will probably be me, since I'm such a splitter) But still, there plenty of time for them to accept us all!

Yeah it seems like they are definitely just working through the in-state people first. I only went complete on 12/2 and found out yesterday even though my numbers are at or a little above their medians. Don't lose hope out of state people.

Yeah, I don't think we should get too discouraged. Any out of state candidates get acceptances?

I'm in-state, complete for about a month, and mine still says "under review." This is confusing because I'm above their 75th LSAT and I'm at UGA right now. Oh well, hope they just haven't gone through them all yet!

Anyone who's gotten in want to give some numbers? I only see two on LSN and they're both close to 4.0 (which I know UGA loves). Also, if anyone has questions about Athens/UGA I'd be glad to answer as I've been here going on 5 years as an undergrad and I have a couple friends in the law school. They all really like it and it seems, to me, at least, that they definitely have a good balance in their lives between studying and, uh, enjoying Athens.

I go to Tech now for undergrad. I've grown up a GT fan and that's probably the main thing that makes me hesitant to go to UGA haha.Barbie wrote:Nice name! I don't think so; I do think that they put some people on hold for a second review before Christmas. At this time last year I was still freaking out about my retake score, so I'm not really sure.Barbie wrote:Stillllllll UR It's a reach for me so I have no idea when I'll hear.
Eandy- did they send out any WL/Dings before Christmas last year?
I wonder if doing the instate people now has anything to do with the fact that they ran out of space for them last year.

I was an English major UG and have always been interested in creative writing/journalism so UGA was my dream school growing up in Alpharetta. If it helps, there is not a lot of pressure to be a Georgia fan. I have plenty of friends who proudly rep their Florida gear in the halls without getting any crap. There are a lot of Big Ten kids here, I'm an ACC kid myself...
None of us care about UGA football. Pretty much the only people who do are the people who went to UGA undergrad or didn't have a real football team in college.

Super splitter, hoping my 169 will overshadow a 2.9 GPA.
I submitted at the start of November and I've been under review for a little over a week. I just want UGA to get back to me so I don't have to pay to apply to Georgia State.

I'm actually from Alpharetta too, but after growing up a GT fan and wanting to be a business major going to Tech was the easy choice.Barbie wrote:I was an English major UG and have always been interested in creative writing/journalism so UGA was my dream school growing up in Alpharetta. Received the acceptance letter today. It did come with the Georgia Law bumper sticker as mentioned above. No mention of scholarship information, though.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
