Also the GPA median is like 3.54 which seems low to me on first glance but I don't know the stats.

I wouldn't be too optimistic at 167 if you are a splitter as I think there are 167s who could raise the GPA median waiting as well, but I wish you the best.

NOTE This is ASSUMING 168 is a goal for them.
Assuming that LSN is representative is quite the assumption - I'd bet almost anything it skews high. Anyway, I can't speak for 167, but as a 168/3.1 I got in (notified within 10 days) and was given $$, so I'd have a hard time believing the notion of a 167 getting in is so crazy. That said, WUSTL does love them some stats.

It looks like they are really trying to push for that 168 median, but I also heard they did something very similar last year before admitting many of the 167 applicants.
I'm a 167 splitter and having the same thoughts as you, and I'm still fairly optimistic. My reason is that I can't imagine WUSTL would suddenly be able to be more selective than they were last year. Maybe someone else knows this - how competitive is law school admission in general compared to last year? I saw that the number of October LSAT takers went down from last year, so unless there is some influx of applicants from somewhere else (reapplying after last year or something), I would imagine WUSTL is going to eventually accept us 167 splitters, just like they did last year, the year before that, and the year before that.

ZOMG BUT WUSTL IS TIED FOR #18 NOW!

sure the median might be 169 on LSN but how many applicants with 170s and 169s and decent gpas are going to turn down T13 for WUSTL ? im sure a few, but cmon.

I love how T13 is a thing now with Texas sneaking into the 14 slot.

I posted how exciting I thought it was that WUSTL is tied for 18 when I found out, and I'm not sure if you're making fun of me, or if that's just a coincidence.

I think it's more of an anti-Georgetown thing rather than an irrational hate for Texas. Still kind of funny though.

What on earth is up with people going UR 3/8 to 3/11, UR 3/11 to 3/14, and UR 3/14 to 3/15?

Is there any speculation on the logical basis of these updates?

This was my point. People say 168 is their goal, but they are at 169 right now using LSNs (which I agree skews high) and lots of those high LSATs aren't going to go. So if 168 is actually a goal of theirs I don't think they have a lot of room for 167s. That said, I think its probably likely that 168 isn't a goal and a lot of, if not all, 167s will get in. I don't think the number of applicants is there for them to get to 168.

it all depends on how close WUSTL will come to their 167/168 median.

Hahaha, I'm sorry -- I didn't see you posted that -- I didn't mean to mock you. As a someone who is probably going to wind up at WUSTL aka splitters paradise I'm glad about it too, even if the NLJ250 is a more meaningful ranking for what I'm hoping to do (which is practice law, not rhyme).

LSN isn't really a way to judge a school's medians, especially when the cycle isn't close to over. it's is more of a way to compare yourself with peers to see where you may or may not get in.

I honestly do not think that's a safe assumption.

You guys have been following WUSTL more closely I think. When is WUSTL due for another wave of decisions you think/day of the week it usually happens?

Given that they just jumped to #18, I think they want to maintain their upward trend. If California really dives into the shitter then maybe USC can be overtaken. It'll be some time before they catch up to where Vandy is, but their movement is impressive. I think the administration is future oriented, and I'm worried they're going to be too numbers-whorish now. I liked WUSTL just as much when it was 19 and 20, but can't blame a school for caring about their ranking...maybe WUSTL will get more respect now? I know it's really under the radar for non-prelaws/students, maybe now the tie with USC will create some good buzz.

lol, it's cool. even if you had been mocking me, it would have been deserved. anyway, good luck. sounds like if they start taking the 167 splitters I'll see you there in the fall 8)

is the FAFSA form the only thing that WUSTL requires to render a fin.aid decision?

No, you needed to fill out their financial aid form (it's on the admissions website). I'm pretty sure the "deadline" was March 1, so you might want to get on that.

Wait that's for need based right? They'll still consider you for merit if you neglected to fill out that form...?
