i can understand this as far as actual admissions are concerned, but do they honestly set asside applications for extended periods of time without any other consideration if they dont have the numbers? It seems like most schools look at them all, and then waitlist accordingly. Or am I completely off base in this?
Schools definitely review based on what they want the most. Not to say other people won't be reviewed accepted, but those with the ideal numbers will definitely benefit and wait less, in general.

Of the top 20 schools, are there any that like the LSAT as much as WUSTL? I'm wondering if these LSAT walls (like WUSTL's 168+) are common or out of the ordinary...

The ones lower than WUSTL (USC, UCLA, UT) LOVE GPA. They are not splitter friendly at all.

My theory is that the LSAT is WUSTLs priority, so they accept a bunch of high LSATs, and then once they can estimate what their LSAT median is going to be (using w/e formula/percentage they have for the proportion of ppl who will actually accept admission offers), they let in higher GPA/lower LSAT ppl making sure to keep their LSAT median where it needs to be.

I got in with a 165, but I have a 3.9 so you may be right (poster above) that they may just need to bridge the discr. gap

(ironically....I did not get into any of the gpa friendly schools.....)

Are you applying this cycle and you say you've already been accepted to WUSTL with a 3.9/165?

Been complete for two months now and I havent even been put into review yet. I really hope WUSTL can give me a decision (and possibly let me know if i will receive a scholly) by the end of this month.

What is WUSTL's/WUSTL Law's reputation in the midwest/east coast? I'm from TX/CA so I'm less familiar with the school...
What specifically puts them in the top 20? What are they "known" for? Thanks

I believe the institution itself is most famous for medical? apparently its a beast of a med school. someone else has commented on wustl before as "the harvard of the midwest" as well. Too bad that doesn't translate to harvard-like success in the law employment department

Yes, while their law school is certainly not bad, they are the most selective medical school in the country, and essentially tied with both chicago and northwestern in the undergraduate rankings. The Harvard comparison definitely has more to do with the university as a whole than the law school.

The higher your LSAT (read over 168) the quicker.

For real. I mean, I already have money, but I have gotten more emails/flash drives from them than all the other schools I have been admitted to combined.

Speaking of Wash U mailings, when do admission packets typically arrive?
