what does in review actually mean? in the case of the 11/1 poster, did someone read their app on 11/1, and is now making a decision based on other apps or thinking it over? or does it mean it is with someone who got a long pile of apps on 11/1, yours being one of them?

It all really depends on where you are. I don't think the areas around WUSTL or in the CWE are dangerous at all. There are definitely some rough neighborhoods, but it isn't hard to avoid them.

There's an email at least every other week about a couple people getting mugged. One of my "acquaintances" got his face beat in around U-City but that was probably his fault. Shit happens in Central West End sometimes. Just gotta roll deep and stay strapped young bucks.

Maybe not mugged, but probably begged more than you ever have. And the beggers here give a pretty show... there is one guy with an awesome schtick I met my first weekend here.

Funny you said that...I was in St. Louis over the summer for a sorority conference and a guy agreed to sing "Sex Room" by Ludacris and Trey Songz in exchange for 10 dollars....I gave him the 10 dollars

I'm from Cleveland, we're #7 on the "danger list"....St. Louis doesn't frighten me at all lol

+1 haha

My bro lived downtown in St. Louis for a while and he seemed to feel pretty safe. The only time I saw him get sketched out was when he picked me up from the airport and wasn't exactly sure of the best way to drive back to his place. He tried to give me the scenic route, but we definitely ended up cutting through what he said was a dangerous neighborhood.

Doesn't stop me from wanting to go to WUSTL!!

eh, St. Louis isn't that bad. It's like any other city: just don't be stupid, and you'll be fine.

This is kind of BS, because the actual city limits of St. Louis are pretty small. The suburbs are pretty close in here, so within the actual city limits, it's very inner-city urban. This cuts off the outlying areas that have less crime that most cities at least have some of. St. Louis proper only has about 350,000 people, but Detroit proper has 910,000 people. Yet the metro areas are not drastically different. Wichita, Kansas has more people in the city proper than St. Louis. As you can imagine, this drives up the "average" crime statistics pretty high, when it's not really justified.

There's some very, very nice inner-ring suburbs here, many of them pretty close to the school. And there's still some good areas in the city itself. I feel just as safe here as when I lived in Chicago. But it is, after all, a big city, so the normal rule applies: just don't act like an idiot and you'll be fine.

Asked for a fee waiver, and it was granted. My app was sent in on 11/11. GPA 2.94, LSAT 171.

However, I got an email on 11/19 from WUSTL that said my app was incomplete, and needed an additional LOR. I checked to website to see if I misread the app and they wanted 3 instead of 2. They didn't, so I checked my LSAC account.... They for some reason only sent ONE of my two assigned LORs. This didn't happen with ANY of the other applications I sent in using the same 2 LORs. What's with that?!

Checked again this morning, and the second LOR was sent without a prompt from me. Anyone else have this happen?

That's odd. In the end it won't matter. You'll be in with $$.

Thanks for the reassurance... I hope that's the case! I'm more just antsy about having it go complete... I know once all my apps are complete, all I can do is wait lol.

By the way, great avatar.

Sorry brah, but you better get used to it. It is probably another month or so at least before you get a decision, and maybe a lot longer. WUSTL admissions can take a while. Last year, people with 168+ got acceptances a lot sooner than the other admits, so if you have a higher LSAT, you should be good. But if you're on the border, it could take a while.
