Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
App received 11/12, incomplete as of 11/19 (LSAC screwed up and only sent one LOR), finally complete as of 12/1! The only reason I'm not more antsy about this decision is because I know I have to wait until February to find out about scholarship money anyway!

No. There's an under review stage after that. Most people accepted had their under review date change.

I'm definitely in the range to be accepted, or at least close, but still at complete. Sup with that?Magnifique1908 wrote:calihopeful wrote:does complete mean a decision has been made at WUSTL??

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
Interesting to know the "in review" date changes. Mine clicked from 11/12 to 11/17 with no e-mail or anything, so I don't know. They sent me an e-mail for the 11/12 change but definitely not 11/17.Magnifique1908 wrote:calihopeful wrote:does complete mean a decision has been made at WUSTL??

I've been under review since 9/22 so I'm probably in for a long wait on a rejection.

I've also been in the review stage for a while, although nowhere near as long as 9/22.ran12 wrote:No I'm in the 160s.justadude55 wrote:ru 170s? i can see myself getting rejected off my app, not my #'s.ran12 wrote:I've been under review since 9/22 so I'm probably in for a long wait on a rejection.

Yea it is. Waiting is worse than getting rejected in my opinion, and I've gotten rejections already so I'm not just speculating.Aggiegrad2011 wrote:I've also been in the review stage for a while, although nowhere near as long as 9/22.ran12 wrote:No I'm in the 160s.justadude55 wrote:ru 170s? i can see myself getting rejected off my app, not my #'s.ran12 wrote:I've been under review since 9/22 so I'm probably in for a long wait on a rejection.

I agree. If UCLA had said "yikes" at my LSAT and just rejected me, I'd feel a whole lot better. Hell is preferable to limbo, and I've been to hell, so I am not speculating either.Yea it is. This is kind of like getting led on by someone you're dating, and you know it probably won't work out, but you REALLY want it to... but you'd rather just get dumped than be strung along.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
is there any link between waiting and getting rejected? can't you say the same about being accepted? more people get rejected than accepted, so it makes sense to predict quick replies are normally rejections.

It's too early to jump to any conclusions concerning WUSTL. They've just begun handing out acceptances, and not many of them at that.justadude55 wrote:is there any link between waiting and getting rejected? can't you say the same about being accepted? more people get rejected than accepted, so it makes sense to predict quick replies are normally rejections.

This early in the cycle, when schools start to review apps, the earliest replies are acceptances for the most part.justadude55 wrote:is there any link between waiting and getting rejected? can't you say the same about being accepted? more people get rejected than accepted, so it makes sense to predict quick replies are normally rejections.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
It seems intuitive that quick replies would be rejections, but I don't think you can make ANY generalizations about this because it HAS to be dependent on each school individually. I remember reading in the UVA thread that people were waiting for rejections (not even Wl mind you...) clear into February last cycle.justadude55 wrote:is there any link between waiting and getting rejected? can't you say the same about being accepted? more people get rejected than accepted, so it makes sense to predict quick replies are normally rejections.
To say that because you've been UR/IR for a long time means that they're debating your app. a lot or something seems like a nice thing to say/do, but I doubt that's the reality. It's probably somewhere in between an applicant not being an auto-ding (Not many schools seem to do that, although UT-Austin might by the looks of it) and not being an auto-admit (much more common, apparently, for schools). Like, a school knows that they need to compete for those limited resources (170+ LSAT scores) so everyone else they know they can relax / take their time on. Makes sense to me.

Its still super early and there's lots more acceptances to come. Don't stress the wait.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
For the most part, WUSTL doesn't begin rejecting people until March.
Think about it strategically from the school's perspective. You have a pretty good idea of certainty, but until the application deadline, you don't know what your final applicant pool is going to look like. There's no benefit to rejecting people early, because you can't revoke such a decision...you might later want those people in a worst-case scenario. There's no need to limit your options if you don't have to. You're better off stringing along the borderline rejects (no offense ) until you're absolutely sure you don't need them. But there's almost no harm in accepting people early that are clearly above your medians...the only way this could be a bad thing is if things turned out really, really well for the school and they later decided that they could have moved up their medians even more...which, when you get to this level, is virtually impossible to raise your medians more than a point at a time.
With WUSTL, past history shows that its all acceptances for the next four months. They're not going to start rejecting people when they have no idea what their final applicant pool looks like, and they won't know that until the application deadline, which is March 1.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
JCougar is right. Although I will say it seems like they are moving a little more quickly this year than last (for example. my app was in in like mid-October and I wasn't in review til December and I wasn't accepted til January). So maybe this year will be different, but I doubt it. There will be pretty much all acceptances til the middle of next semester, and the early ones are almost always 168+. So be patient young grasshoppas.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
