I must say, the UIUC guaranteed scholarship raises to match tuition raises is very appealing.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
thank you both. I didn't even realize I didn't have to submit until July 1st. that will help a lot. my buddy goes to SLU med so I'll have a roommate. he's actually got some apartments to look at when I'm there this weekend so I'll have a better idea. I see myself lowering these loan awards in the near future.

I am very impressed with how fiscally responsible the posters on this forum are in juxtaposition with the rest of the American population, and even law school world. Judging by the self-selecting nature of top-law-schools.com, there seems to be a huge link between fiscal responsibility as LSAT scores. I have many a friend who attend tier 3s and 4s taking out 60k/year in loans.

I agree, I wish WUSTL did this. Or just did the responsible thing and held the line on tuition increases.JenDarby wrote:I must say, the UIUC guaranteed scholarship raises to match tuition raises is very appealing.

Or it could just be TLS group think. Group think isn't always bad, you know.flexityflex86 wrote:I am very impressed with how fiscally responsible the posters on this forum are in juxtaposition with the rest of the American population, and even law school world. Is it foolish to take 60k a year for a T14, though! That is the question...fatduck wrote:it's easier to give good advice than take it. there's a fair chance i'll be foolishly taking 60k/year in loans come fallKabuo wrote:Or it could just be TLS group think. To me, this answer is still yes, though I know the general TLS population disagrees with this....(HYS, ok fine)Arbiter213 wrote: Is it foolish to take 60k a year for a T14, though! That is the question...

So, WashU not only expects me to pay more than at Illinois, but they also won't guarantee my tuition?

Personally, I think even WUSTL at sticker would be worth it for most people.JenDarby wrote:To me, this answer is still yes, though I know the general TLS population disagrees with this....(HYS, ok fine)Arbiter213 wrote: Is it foolish to take 60k a year for a T14, though! That is the question...

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
This plus their slightly higher scholarship offer and lower tuition has me leaning towards Illinois. I am going to visit both in two weeks, but unless WashU blows me away I will be at Illinois.JenDarby wrote:I must say, the UIUC guaranteed scholarship raises to match tuition raises is very appealing.

Well my options are pretty lackluster at the moment, so I'm willing to award them a 15k scholarship for accepting me.romothesavior wrote:Eh... If there were theoretical employment, salary, etc numbers for the average law school applicant with just a BA vs. having a WUSTL JD, I'm guessing most people would consider it a worthy investment, especially 5, 10, 20 years down the road.romothesavior wrote:Eh... Maybe not. Most people went 3/14 to 3/15. I didn't check on 3/14, so I assumed I was part of that crowd. May not be the case.thewarflamingo wrote:3 in review dates? Interesting.Justathought wrote:Ugh, in review 3/14 (I assume) - 3/15 - 3/21
