I emailed them today because I've been complete since 12/21 without a peep.SrLaw wrote:SrLaw wrote:7 weeks and no word from wustl. Anyone have any theories?
Generic, impersonal response:
Since our office does not have rolling admissions, the date your application was received doesn’t necessarily determine when your application will be reviewed. Since your application is complete, there is nothing that you need to do or be concerned with at this time.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
Got offered 90K. Email came at 4:56 CST, I think (WUSTL is on Central time, right?). This is very generous, but I guess I had gotten my hopes up for 120K (171/3.7). This probably will not sway me away from Michigan with 54K.

That probably is the best response they can give you because its true... lolFlips88 wrote:I emailed them today because I've been complete since 12/21 without a peep.SrLaw wrote:SrLaw wrote:7 weeks and no word from wustl. Anyone have any theories?

WUSTL is one of the friendliest campuses ever (including the law school) so take that response with a grain of salt.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
I hate to say it, but I was also a bit underwhelmed with my 84k (even though you have better stats than I do). It doesn't seem to be formulaic though since there are people with worse stats who got more money than I did, and some with better didn't get more (or much more).Excellence = a Habit wrote:Got offered 90K. I will probably withdraw after I have notified other schools about the money and received responses regarding competitive offers.

Most likely. But granted, I'm from the StL area and know I want to practice there.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
Just checked my e-mail (I hate not having e-mail on my phone...) and I received the Scholars in Law Award. I sincerely was not expecting this at all--I want to celebrate but I have a paper due tomorrow...
Can't wait to visit St. Louis!
Edit: I realize I probably sound like an idiot, most likely everyone's is called "Scholars in Law." Anyway, mine's 129K. Congrats to all

Question: I only submitted a few weeks ago, and am still sitting at "Received".
With every scholarship post, my hopes for $ gets a little lower.
Warranted or unwarranted?

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
Almost exactly the same. Got $60K via email while driving home from school (5pm, for those that asked earlier), only to find my Michigan rejection letter waiting in my mailbox. Oh well - you can't win 'em all, I guess. I've been to St. Louis a few times and I checked out the school, and it's looking more and more like this is where I'll find myself come August. St. Louis is a fun town and really inexpensive compared to other large cities, and it just got $20K/yr less expensive.ThreeYears wrote:13.5k. Then come back from work to Michigan Rejection.

I really like Michigan, I like it so much that it's hard for me not to take it personal.

Based on all the numbers and scholarship offers I'm seeing, it looks like WUSTl is being sort of holistic in its offers, no? (or something, anyway) Higher offers for some than for others with significantly better numbers.

I think it's definitely holistic. My numbers did not merit the amount I was rewarded.Excellence = a Habit wrote:Based on all the numbers and scholarship offers I'm seeing, it looks like WUSTl is being sort of holistic in its offers, no? My speculation is they are trying to allocate dollars to those most likely to attend (big schollys for just over both medians).Excellence = a Habit wrote:Based on all the numbers and scholarship offers I'm seeing, it looks like WUSTl is being sort of holistic in its offers, no? Really though I just can't stand the thought that they didn't like me as much as my numbers twins.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
Would it be in bad taste to ask for an increase immediately? Including COL the total debt from WUSTL would be about 20k more for WUSTL than UIUC for me. Hoping I could use that as a bargaining chip.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
