Haha, thanks but I'm not hopeful, nor do I really care at this point. Just having a decision would be nice.law4vus wrote:Mine didn't even change but I got the WL email. Well, it definitely wasn't meant to be one. I'm just saying that if the school is "over-committed", it is most certainly because of people like me.

I was mostly kidding but surely you can see how saying "lolz im one of the people whose got an acceptance and has no intention of going" in the midst of people reporting their WLs can come off a little crass.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
Anyone get moved from 3/14 - 3/22 - AND ANOTHER IN REVIEW - 3/29 today?
Not sure what to make of it, judging from the numbers of everyone here I definitely feel like I'll be a waitlist, but why make me wait any longer?
I'm sorry for everyone WL -- there are some seriously great stats in here, but I'm sure they'll pull a large group off the WL once the 168+ withdraw for T14 land. Thankfully their first deposit is due soon (although refundable, so maybe some people will still put their money in and hold out on making a decision) but I hope everyone riding this out gets good news soon!

kk19131, did you get into another school that you prefer over WUSTL? really? i had no fucking idea. please talk about it more in the thread for a school you have no interest in attending.kk19131 wrote:splitmuch wrote:Dick commentkk19131 wrote:So I guess it's people like me who are holding up spaces for no reason...

There have thus far been two accounts in this thread of successful negotiations.flexityflex86 wrote:has anyone successfully negotiated aid with them?

I've tried, without success, to get an answer to this question. I suspect that they are fully aware of the cash IUB is throwing around, and probably don't feel too compelled to match, if that's what you're asking.flexityflex86 wrote:Is IU: B a "peer" school?0LNewbie wrote:There have thus far been two accounts in this thread of successful negotiations.flexityflex86 wrote:has anyone successfully negotiated aid with them?

I don't have a better scolly offer but I still plan to nicely ask to be considered for an increase should funds become availble after the deposit-can't hurt!

I'd be interested in seeing your wording when you do this, if you don't mind. I want to do the same but not only do I not have a better scholly offer, I don't have another acceptance.kch3684 wrote:I don't have a better scolly offer but I still plan to nicely ask to be considered for an increase should funds become availble after the deposit-can't hurt!

While it would be great if this was how things worked, none of us should really give anyone else any grief over not withdrawing somewhere. The truth is there's no upside for the individual to withdraw, and you never know if you'll have some kind of experience or revelation that makes you want the school you were keeping on the back burner.BlueDiamond wrote:so withdraw?kk19131 wrote:

And of course the thing about overcommitting is pure speculation.

You didn't apply to any safeties? I plan to tell them that I could go to my state uni for waaay cheaper.splitmuch wrote:I'd be interested in seeing your wording when you do this, if you don't mind. Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
I dont know how to say this without sounding like a dick, but with a 178 I kinda of thought of WUSTL, ND, and GW as my safeties in that I was reasonably sure I would get into one of them with money at WUSTL. If I didn't a second year of WE and the 178 would make NW a good bet next cycle.
I actually got WL at GW and still haven't heard from ND and have a bunch of holds and WLs from T14s. I guess I can just say I could go to my state school for alot cheaper as I'm sure MU is still accepting apps.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
The WListed people made it seem like the email contained language saying they had overcommittted so I don't think its just speculation. But as the deposit deadline isin 3 days I don't think withdrawing would make much of a difference anyway.Hannibal wrote:While it would be great if this was how things worked, none of us should really give anyone else any grief over not withdrawing somewhere.
