Is he being stationed in NC? or will you be living alone and he will be stationed somewhere away from the law school you choose? I only ask because this is likely to be the scenario I am in as well. My husband is going to go active duty in the fall. He is currently in the National Guard. It would be nice to know someone in a similar situation.Relientkate wrote:Just received word that significant other is being stationed somewhere unexpected, so I'm throwing my hat in the ring very late in the game. 162/3.73. Re: Wake 2011
The second... we previously thought he'd be stationed in Harrisburg, PA, so I applied to PSU and got a great scholly. Then we received word that he'd be stationed on the D.C. area, so I've been putting all my eggs in the University of Maryland basket. Now, he's going to be at Parris Island, SC, so we're going to have to be living apart. Is that what situation you'll be facing as well? We could have a support group!NCtoDC wrote:Is he being stationed in NC? or will you be living alone and he will be stationed somewhere away from the law school you choose? Earlier in the thread some people suggested you can get reimbursement once you matriculate, but I called and asked about this last week, they told me they did not do any reimbursement for attending Scholar Days.modmx wrote:Anyone know the reimbursement policy for Wake's Scholar Days?

Ya, wake forest sets you up with a discount at the hotel and that's it. Better than nothing. What day are you guys going?

Strange. They told me the opposite. It probably wouldn't be the first time an admissions office has been inconsistent with their response! Let's hope you are right though. I will be sure to keep my receipts just in case.plug1 wrote:I actually called last week and they said the reimburse up to $200 if you matriculate

I'm new to the forum (well, as a poster at least), but I will also be there on the 11th and staying in the hotel they offered a discount for. I'm venturing down (from New York) with my family.jdemmitt wrote:Darn, I am going to be the only person there on the 11th. I don't know much about the area, so I'm going to use this trip to get an idea of whether or not I would like to live there for the next 3+ years.

Re: Wake 2011
I am going to be there the 4th, but I'm not staying at the discounted hotel. It's still around $90 a night and didn't get that great of reviews. If anyone else is thinking about staying somewhere else use priceline's name your own price. I am paying $45 a night for a pretty good hotel, but it is around a 15 minute drive.
Also, what are you guys planning to wear? The itinerary seems pretty casual (eat, welcome, visit classes, eat, panel).

+1 Staying at the recommended hotel for the sake of being close to campus.waketiger wrote:Will also be there on the 4th.brooksrun wrote:I'll also be there the 4th!
