She said that they are going to have other Scholarship Open House dates for students who are unable to attend on February 4, 2011. She then noted that they were working feverishly on trying to get scholarship emails out this evening or tomorrow during the day.

I hope this helps
Tomorrow??????????? Seriously???????????? I feel like I'm going to need a prescription of Xanax in order to deal with Wake.

Everyone, stop calling Wake so they can focus on getting our scholarships out

+1. I'm normally pretty laid back, I swear. I don't know why this is messing me with so much.

+1 as well. I think it's because we "know" they are "supposed to come out" on Friday/Monday/Now Tuesday. And then, when it doesn't happen, it makes us start freaking out. If I had never found this stupid website, I would be as happy as can be right now. Instead, I am compulsively refreshing my e-mail/TLS.

Me too. This makes 3 weeks UR and missed I think atleast 2 rounds of acceptances/waitlists. I guess being stuck not good enough to admit but not bad enough to waitlist is better than being waitlisted

Yes, this is EXACTLY why! I honestly wish they would have told us a later date and then surprised us by sending them out "early" or met our expectations by sending them out on the day they said. Plus, the longer they wait, the less likely it is that I'll be able to go to a Scholar Open House, unfortunately.

Anybody know if wake helps cover travel expenses to the scholar open house?

Last year they reimbursed you only if you matriculated.

+1 Thankfully I'm within driving distance. I went to the scholar open house last year and it was worth it. Meeting other the other incoming students and actually getting to talk to professors and current students was great. Regular ASWs tend to be waaayyy more crowded and you don't get that kind of interaction. Highly recommend going to anyone who can feasibly do it.

If granted a scholarship, I'd love to go to scholars weekend. If it really is Feb 4th, though, I don't know how I am going to manage it since I work full time and would have to fly down to NC :(

Not "bad enough" to waitlist? Not really sure that's what's going on here. I was under review since 12/1 so you may just be waiting a long time.

I think they have another Scholar's weekend on the 11th (or maybe it will be moved to a later date). Not sure how much that would help. I'm kind of in the same boat as you though (working FT and living pretty far away). It will be a 10.5 hour drive, or an expensive flight ($300+). I kind of just assumed I would drive, but I will have figure out what the best option is.

Assuming, of course, they actually offer me a scholarship. That may be a very bad assumption though...
