Wow, really?

Unfortunately, I'm turning out to be queen of the waitlist this cycle. I even applied early and I'm still on 7 waitlists. I'm so ready for this to be over.

I know this has been alluded to, but does anyone have any idea of (historically) how much W&M used their waitlist? I have three waitlist right now, and still waiting on BU. I wonder if I should have any hope of getting in off the waitlist.

+1 to this comment - I would definitely email them if this is the case. After interacting with them, I think they would seriously consider it. After all, they did have an admissions blog recently where 2 people they let off the waitlist within a day of each other got married. I would read it and refer to that blog in the email but that's just me!

If i recall correctly, which i am pretty sure i do lol, there was someone on the Arizona State Post that was discussing how they were waitlisted last year and then accepted with 15k. I think the individual even deferred and was still able to get 10k this year.. hope that helps at all

Thanks guys -- I'll definitely be doing something like this if that's how things shake out. My SO and I still need to hear from a number of other schools, so it's too early to make that sort of commitment to the school. The reason I mentioned the SO acceptance/me WL is that the other schools we both applied to are more reaches, so W&M was the best school we stood a good shot of both being accepted by.

So I guess this is a total noob question, but are all the people withdrawing 100 percent positive they won't go even if admitted? Is there any downside to just sitting on the list?

Sorry to all on the WL... especially since my numbers weren't exactly better than a lot of people there.

But I asked earlier: How do we apply for the election law fellowship?

Clarification: I did apply, or I wrote the required essay anyway, with my original application. I was more or less wondering how and when we find out if we got it?

For me, yes I'm 100% sure. I am not willing to relocate w/out money, and it's unlikely to get money if you're accepted late off the waitlist. But no, there's absolutely no downside if you're still interested in W&M, just be aware that the waitlist doesn't move much.

I think you need to do it ASAP. You don't have to commit to going, and if they admit you off the WL, that doesn't mean you'll have to go. Especially if it's the best school you both stand a shot at being able to attend, then you need to do it soon.
