I was accepted on 1/27 and received my scholarship letter today. It was dated 1/31

I'm gonna throw a party if I get accepted to W&L this Friday,

Did the phone interview two weeks ago and got a nice handwritten letter from the dean of admissions!

Shit, if I'd have known I'd go back in review this early I'd have done an interview or.. anything really, since my initial waitlist.

Same here! He was really nice, though the handwriting was hard to read

Agreed, do you think a LOCI emailed this week would be of any help at this point. Or should I just wait it out and see if I make the cut?

I didnt get any handwritten letters >< in fact, I was accepted by email one week after going complete! Did this happen to anyone else wtf?

has anyone else thats been told scholarships went out on 1/31 not received anything in the mail yet? or does this mean I didnt get anything?

For negociating aid who do we send the email to? I'm thinking (from the website)

"For more specific information regarding the multiple steps in the educational loan application process, please consult the Financial Aid loan website. If you have additional questions not addressed by the web resources, please contact Cynthia Hintze, Senior Assistant Director of Financial Aid, at (540) 458-8032 or chintze@wlu.edu."

Or would it be Brett Twitty?

Contact the person who signed the financial aid letter. I can't remember which Dean it was, but that's who I e-mailed and she got back to me the same day with a higher offer. Good luck.

my scholly letter was sent 1/31 and I got it on Friday, 2/4. It was my understanding that you would receive a letter whether or not you were awarded scholly. Something along the lines of "even if we are unable to offer you scholarship money, you will be informed of this in the letter as well."

I'm part of the pre-1/20 waitlist pool (12/9), so I sent Director Twitty a LOCI email on Monday, and scheduled a phone interview for Thursday morning. Hopefully that's enough to convince them to accept me!

same here.. mail just came for the day and still nothing.. i figure ill give it 7-10 days excluding sundays.. so if I dont hear by like thursday I'll give a call

That happened to me as well. I applied on the 22nd of January and was accepted on the 27th, insanely fast. No handwritten note. I think you should be flattered that they didn't have to put that much time and effort into deciding whether or not you are an acceptable applicant.

Friday is when they're cutting the waitlist. Offering a few spots, denying others, and continual waitlist for the rest.
