I don't have an error page either. Just the same as always. Maybe something will happen next week?

I know this was discussed a while back but I have been admitted and I got a Christmas card from George Mason today.

This is a distinct possibility. When I was discussing my YP rejection over the phone with the dean, she said she also rejected applicants if she felt "they didn't fit in with the school."

Don't feel bad. Schools just have different eyes when it comes to assessing an application. I got rejected to Illinois yesterday, held at BC, and got into GM. Come to think of it, I should be worried, not you~~ Good luck on the rest of your cycle and don't let one waitlist put you down. Congrats on Illinois!

just got the postcard in the mail. From the posts above it doesn't seem like it carries any significance, unfortunately. :/

I was accepted. My PS wasnt overly "liberal" per se, but it may have been construed that way. I talked about growing up in the ghetto and working with inner city kids.

I think the quality of your writing has more to do than the actual subject. Granted, you want to write about something interesting, but at the same time you dont want your essay to look like it was writen by a 5th grader. 5 sentence paragraphs, intro, body, conclusion, etc etc dont work for these kinds of essays.

YP for sure. Don't let it get you down.

Speaking about personal statements, how many people submitted more than 500 words? Mine was 800.

Mine was 500 exactly. Not a single superlative.

Mine was 440-something. But I think the less than 500 words was a little bit unreasonable. My 2 page one was so much better.

Mine was 499.

I just expanded my diversity statement and used it in place of my personal statement.

I got my status checker e-mail on 11/11, and probably submitted a few days before that? I haven't gotten any e-mail or phone call yet today, though, but I'd love to get in here. Has anyone not been notified by e-mail (for instance, a WL/reject and found out via snail mail)? I'd like to know something today.
