Just got in via cell phone call! GMU is very attractive, but is it really as conservative as everyone says?

Sent in my application Jan 5th, I think it went final on the 7th.

I talked to an alum and she told me that it isn't so concervative socially, but that it is very conservative in economic thought. But, in the good news, she graduated in 09 and found a job before she graduated as did all of her friends!

Re: conservative. I too have heard that they law school is economically conservative, but not necessarily socially conservative. I know for a fact that it attracts students to its law and economics program, which is slanted towards a more libertarian viewpoint.

I went complete on 1/14....what is the usual turnaround for GMU?

Just got a decision rendered you will be notified shortly. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to get back to you? Mason is one of my top choices.

I think everyone who has been accepted gets a phone call.

I think what we've seen so far is:

Accept = phone
Ding = email
Waitlist = snail

Do they call throughout the day or should I give up hope and accept that I was waitlisted that they haven't called by now. Actually I just saw that the Law School is closing early today because of the snow maybe that has something to do with it too? I can only hope lol.

They do call throughout the day. I noticed that my status changed to decision rendered in the morning. I did not get a phone call until the evening. Good luck!

I was WL at GMU but offered to participate in the Pre-Admission Summer Trial (PAST) program. The program description says ranking high (even #1) after the 2 week class does not guarantee admission. Wondering if it's worth participating bc ranking high could potentially help me and ranking low could potentially hurt me, and if I choose not to take part, I still have spot on wait list.

Anyone have any insight? GMU was a reach for me and so far I've only been accepted to safety schools.
