I was WL a while back (Dec) with a 165/3.7 to PT. I took the Feb test and bumped it up to a 167. Hoping that plus a PTO job will get me in off the WL. Has anybody spoken with any admissions counselors or anything yet about being WL? Any part timers who got in wanna share their numbers?

So since GW's deposit deadline is the 15th and it's by mail, does that mean we have to send it in early? Like by next week for it to arrive on time?

And are we allowed to send in a deposit to multiple schools?

71% employed in "J.D. Preferred" occupations. That's the kicker right there--that should be a red flag, no?

I don't know...should it? The information is a bit confusing to me, because then you have another group of 90% which is under "bar admission required".

I did. I haven't heard anything but I'm not holding my breath or anything... I think we will probably hear by the end of the month, and keep in mind that they'll have more spots opening up after the 15th so I think I'd rather hear after then anyway...

went to visit on Monday...the law school is SO NICE!! The campus is great and I went there the one day of this week that it was like 83 degrees and beautiful outside.

I just didn't really care for DC as a place to live. Cool place to visit/be a tourist, but not really my cup of tea in terms of a place to live.

just curious if anyone else applied this late -- GW's deadline is unusually late but i'm not sure why, or if they bother accepting people who applied this late anyway...
Applied 2/25, received notification of receipt on 3/1, haven't heard anything since.

Getting Antsy.

Disagree. Try it first and you'll love it. :D

Then again, I'm one of those people who prefers DC to New York and am called crazy for it.

So....

Who's having an aweful time trying to decide if this school is worth sticker? =(

Best school I've gotten into, but just can find the balls to sign the dotted line yet. . . and time is ticking.

Lord save us......

Insult to DC.

Sike, I know most people disagree with me and I can see why. NYC has a lot more to offer, but I just like the feel and history of DC more. I'm biased though since I'm from here haha

that's fair! NYC is honestly not for everyone...i know some people who HATE it. DC is definitely historic and I was a tourist for a few hours in between GULC/GW visits, and I must say it's impressive. But as for the feel/vibe of the city, I'm a much bigger fan of NYC. To each his own!

I usually make sure that snail mail has at least a week to arrive.

Depending on the school you can cross deposit (read what it says on your deposit form). But by a certain date (I don't know when), LSAC informs schools of cross depositors and the schools get bitchy with you about it.

And I'm another crazy person who hates NYC. It's too big, dirty, and overwhelming. I prefer Philly and DC and other smaller scaled cities.

I would need to check but I'm 99% sure most schools need the deposit to be postmarked by the 15th. So sending it on the 15th shouldn't be a problem.

I thought it needed to arrive by then, but I could easily be wrong.

I'll check once I'm back from class but I checked last night on the GW intent form and if I remember correctly it has to be postmarked. Maybe I'm delusional from wishful thinking though because they rejected my request for an extension deadline (damn you Cornell!).

From GWU's most recent e-mail:

" First Deposit Deadline - Intent Form
If you have not already sent in your completed intent form and first seat deposit, please remember to do so by April 15th (must be postmarked by April 15th). Your seat deposit must be in the form of a check of money order, made payable to The George Washington University. Attached for your convenience is a copy of the intent form. Please note that we are not able to extend seat deposit deadlines."
