I'm actually still mulling it over with Columbia and NYU as the alternatives, both offering no $. Road tripping to visit all three next week.

So since GW's deposit deadline is the 15th and it's by mail, does that mean we have to send it in early? Like by next week for it to arrive on time?miamiman09 wrote:bender18 wrote:Anyone debating the 106k offer with a GULC acceptance?

I don't know...should it? The information is a bit confusing to me, because then you have another group of 90% which is under "bar admission required".FalafelWaffle wrote:71% employed in "J.D. Preferred" occupations. That's the kicker right there--that should be a red flag, no?

I did. I haven't heard anything but I'm not holding my breath or anything... I think we will probably hear by the end of the month, and keep in mind that they'll have more spots opening up after the 15th so I think I'd rather hear after then anyway...ofthehouse wrote:Has anyone applied in march and still waiting for a notification that they received your application? i submitted mine 3/15 and called to see if they have received it and they didnt even ask for my name they just said we would be hearing a response back within 3-4 weeks
Applied 2/25, received notification of receipt on 3/1, haven't heard anything since.smittelman6 wrote:did anyone else apply after 2/1? i got accepted to every school i applied to (t2s and hastings) and then realized i way under-applied, so sent in GW even though i probably have a shot in hell of getting it.
just curious if anyone else applied this late -- GW's deadline is unusually late but i'm not sure why, or if they bother accepting people who applied this late anyway...
Disagree. Try it first and you'll love it.Gotti wrote: I just didn't really care for DC as a place to live. Cool place to visit/be a tourist, but not really my cup of tea in terms of a place to live.

Then again, I'm one of those people who prefers DC to New York and am called crazy for it.
yeah I'm in love with NYC lol. DC didn't even come close to compare...law4vus wrote:Disagree. Try it first and you'll love it.Gotti wrote: I just didn't really care for DC as a place to live. Cool place to visit/be a tourist, but not really my cup of tea in terms of a place to live.

people keep saying DC is like mini-NYC. heeeeellll no...wtf?
that's fair! NYC is honestly not for everyone...i know some people who HATE it. DC is definitely historic and I was a tourist for a few hours in between GULC/GW visits, and I must say it's impressive. But as for the feel/vibe of the city, I'm a much bigger fan of NYC. To each his own!law4vus wrote:Insult to DC.Gotti wrote:yeah I'm in love with NYC lol. DC didn't even come close to compare...law4vus wrote:Disagree. Sike, I know most people disagree with me and I can see why. NYC has a lot more to offer, but I just like the feel and history of DC more. I'm biased though since I'm from here haha
I usually make sure that snail mail has at least a week to arrive.bender18 wrote:So since GW's deposit deadline is the 15th and it's by mail, does that mean we have to send it in early? Like by next week for it to arrive on time?
And are we allowed to send in a deposit to multiple schools?

Depending on the school you can cross deposit (read what it says on your deposit form). But by a certain date (I don't know when), LSAC informs schools of cross depositors and the schools get bitchy with you about it.

I would need to check but I'm 99% sure most schools need the deposit to be postmarked by the 15th. So sending it on the 15th shouldn't be a problem.bk187 wrote:I usually make sure that snail mail has at least a week to arrive.bender18 wrote:So since GW's deposit deadline is the 15th and it's by mail, does that mean we have to send it in early? I thought it needed to arrive by then, but I could easily be wrong.FiveSermon wrote:I would need to check but I'm 99% sure most schools need the deposit to be postmarked by the 15th. So sending it on the 15th shouldn't be a problem.
I'll check once I'm back from class but I checked last night on the GW intent form and if I remember correctly it has to be postmarked. Maybe I'm delusional from wishful thinking though because they rejected my request for an extension deadline (damn you Cornell!).bk187 wrote:I thought it needed to arrive by then, but I could easily be wrong.FiveSermon wrote:I would need to check but I'm 99% sure most schools need the deposit to be postmarked by the 15th.
