I have 2 years WE so I thought about trying for NU, but I decided I wouldn't be willing to pay sticker to go there, even if I got in.

Haha, no biggie... sorry to hear about UMinn... sounds like it would have been a good fit for you. I thought about applying there until I realized I wouldn't want to spend 3 years in that much cold, much less any time beyond that.

Sorry, no offense, but you're not a super splitter. Just a good old fashioned splitter.
ETA: If you guys want a good URM comparison, he got into UIUC and Minnesota with a 2.99/167 whereas I got waitlisted with a 2.94/171. Although it's entirely possible his application was better than mine too, just to clarify.

I accidently scrolled down the first page instead of the last. Recently you got a Darrow right? Guess things worked out just like you could have hoped. Good call on not ED'ing.Entchen wrote:I ended up not EDing Michigan because of the money issue. Hopefully that will turn out to have been a wise decision.jt1341 wrote:I hope not, you will get huge Scholly money from MVP with those numbers! good shot at CCN also? I'm hoping for Michigan, also applying to Duke, Cornell, UVA, potentially Penn if I can bring myself to write another essay, Georgetown, Wash U, Vandy, then things like BC/BU, Minnesota, Notre Dame, W&M.
Good luck everyone! May we all wind up at our preferred schools
I'm not shooting for CCN because I don't want to go to any of them. I really dislike big cities (I grew up in and then near NYC and I would be very happy to never go back). But thanks for the encouragement! Hopefully Michigan agrees with your evaluation!

Ha, yup, things worked out even better than I expected! I was thinking I might be in the running for $67.5k. Definitely very excited to start at Michigan in four months!dabbadon8 wrote:I accidently scrolled down the first page instead of the last. Recently you got a Darrow right? Pretty good cycle for a REAL splitter so far. In at Stetson, IUb(120k), UGA, and FSU. Dinged at Illinois. ~11 more to hear from.

Re: 2010 Splitters Application Thread
can't believe I just saw this thread.
hello everyone, super splitter here.
2.7 gpa, 170, URM and 4 years of work experience (with labor, which is the type of law I want to pursue)
Only school i've heard back from is Boalt (flat out rejection), so I am starting to get worried that I might have aimed too high.

Late to the party - 3.4x, 175 (retake). Applied in December, so I still have a lot of waiting to do. No info on schollies either.
In at:
NYU (yay!)
Texas
UC Davis
Waiting:
CLS
SLS (fully expecting a ding, but hey...)
Boalt (sent to faculty review)
Michigan
Penn
GULC
UCLA

Re: 2010 Splitters Application Thread
Boalt flat out dinged me as well, but no surprise there. I don't know if you only concentrated on the T14, but we have almost identical numbers (2.73, 170 here), I have over 5 years work experience, and I'm non-URM. This is me on LSN http://lawschoolnumbers.com/slampDreamsInDigital wrote:can't believe I just saw this thread.

Re: 2010 Splitters Application Thread
So from what I've been reading, i think boalt REALLY does not like low gpas. I did not keep it to t14, but they were all within the top 30ish.

Congrats on your acceptances. Have you decided where you're going to end up? That IU-Bloomington scholarship does sound mighty tempting.

Boalt is not exactly splitter friendly (though I will continue to hope for the best until they outright ding me.) Reverse splitters seem to do well though.
Any other splitters on hella waitlists? I'm on 4. Hoorah.

Well, I'm not exactly ON the Vandy or ND waitlists since I never responded. But ya know.
Also held in 4 places.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
